"Now this is the life," Val sighed as the three girls relaxed in the water of the large group hot tub within the boarding house spa. "The only downside after everything that happened today is we're still stuck doing homework after this."

"We've got to take the bad with the good, I guess," Cass said. "On the plus side, it's not like we can't take our time in here. And, even better, none of us got kidnapped today."

"It also reminds me of the times we'd stumble onto natural hot springs with Mama Shakti every once in a while when we were on the run. Man, those were godsends."

"Even though we weren't able to stay at one place for very long, I remember those."

"Believe it or not, I know how you two feel about that," Sephira spoke up. "Mom and I had our own fair share of running and hiding between safe havens. Who was after you?"

"Just the usual kinds of people who tried to use us and Mama to get to our fathers," Cass explained. "It's become the standard danger of being related to a famous villain."

"It was tough, but kind of fun in hindsight," Val nodded. "We picked up a lot of our practical skills just trying to stay one step ahead of authorities and bounty hunters. And here, we can use those how we want to."

"And you're not worried about anyone catching up to you here?" Sephira asked.

"We have asylum here, especially since Mama's not wanted in this country," Cass explained. "Funny enough, if you and your dad hadn't kidnapped us that day , we'd have gone right by this place and likely be hiding out elsewhere."

"Dad takes trespassers and intruders pretty seriously since his enemies do target us," Sephira explained in return. "You guys stumbled onto the family property during our training, and it's a good thing we detained you instead of KOS-MOS. She still scares me..."

"It all worked out for the best," Cass smiled. "Mama has a steady job and we can live somewhat normal lives ourselves for now too."

"I know how you feel," Sephira nodded. "It took me days after Dad found me to convince myself all this wasn't just a good dream."

"Now if the bunnies would just leave us alone," Val frowned a bit. "We still have no idea why they keep coming after us."

"Better them than a lot of others, I'm sure," Sephira gave a nervous chuckle, recalling how being kidnapped by the bunnies was ultimately harmless compared to some other situations she'd been caught up in over the past year.

"Too bad Himeko decided to not join us, though," Cass looked over at the entrance. "She really looked like she was having fun until the storm hit. Practically everything we did this afternoon, no matter how simple, looked like it was something new for her. And we did find a few things in common that I want to talk about more."

"Hey, the longer we wait, the longer we get to soak in here," Val surmised.

"I'm not going anywhere until the rain stops," Sephira stated. "At least the path between here and the main building has a covered walk. Not so between here and my place. Maybe I can get Dad to fix that."

"Just use the service tunnel, Hon," Dyne's unexpected voice startled her a bit as she turned to see her dad step into the water with Allie and Kitsuki. "It connects the cabin and the main building just below ground level."

"Mom, Dad, what are you doing here?" She asked. "What about your private hot tub back at our place?"

"It's being worked on right now," Allie explained, "And the two of us wanted your dad to catch us up on what we missed with Mazda's little adventure over the weekend."

"Still trying to juggle four or five girlfriends, huh?" Sephira shot her dad a teasing grin.

"And four precious daughters," Dyne winked at her. "No villainess training today?"

"What are you talking about?" Sephira's face turned smug. "The three of us kidnapped a little sea princess and took her around town until she escaped."

"Oh, Himeko-chan?" Kitsuki asked. "I took care of her arrival yesterday. She's a sweetheart, but she does take that 'princess' part of her name pretty seriously with how formal she is."

"You never know," Sephira shrugged again. "She may be one after all from what we've seen today, but we like her. Hopefully Elica can join the next time all of us hang out."

Before anyone could say anything else, a sneeze from the entrance caused everyone to turn their heads back that way and they saw the same girl they'd just been talking about.

"Please forgive the intrusion and my tardiness, Lady Sephira, Lady Cassandra, and Lady Val," Himeko bowed from the entrance. She was again clad in what she had called her "casual" outfit that most people would just call a bikini and sarong. "I have decided to join you."

"Well, at least you're still using 'Val' even though I told you to drop the 'Lady' part just as much," Val greeted. "No need to ask for permission or wait for us, though. Come on in."

"I accept your invitation," Himeko stepped over to the edge of the hot tub and thought to herself, "(I'm taking a risk with this, but if it's just my feet, I shouldn't have to worry...)" She cautiously stepped in onto the bench and sat on the edge, breathing a small sigh of relief that nothing began to happen.

"Probably don't want to get your hair wet again, huh?" Sephira asked. "That's fine."

"We're glad you joined us either way," Cass smiled. "We can still keep chatting as long as we want."

"I... would greatly appreciate that," a tinge of red appeared on Himeko's cheeks as she felt a little embarrassed over worrying so much before making the decision to join them. That day had been her first full day living there and she had received a warm welcome both at where she would be living for the next year as well as at school. With a little more time, she felt she would be able to begin relaxing a bit more around her new friends and possibly allow them to see the part of her personality usually reserved only for when she was in private solitude due to her position back home. And, one day, she hoped to be able to trust them with her secret. But, for now, she was content with how the day had gone.
