I came across this rifle entirely by accident, while searching dA for SG 55x series rifle pics. I've looked at a few of the pictures, and I like this very much. I would be interested in seeing what this looks like on the inside, as it seems that you've put a lot of time and effort into the design.
Couple questions though. I may be blind, but I can't see a magazine release. Is it in the same location as on the SG 551? My second question is kind of a two parter. With the charging handle; is it non-reciprocating, and is it ambidextrous (as in on both sides)?
Thanks for sharing a great rifle.
Cheers,
Loric

I'm liking the ability to be fully abmidextrous, as I am left-handed in just about everything I do. Do the magazines rock in as with the SG55x series, FAL and AK?

Nope, they slip in like an AR. this way they drop out quick for the new one to be thrown in.

Neat, overall well thought out. I'd say this works favourably as a NATO answer to the AK-107/108 and AEK rifles.

Stock looks less flimsy than the actual 556's.

I think the SIG 556 is an abomination personally.

Really good work. But some info on the stock would be good, right or left folding, lenght adjustable?

Well Seth, not to be a complete wise ass, but the picture itself gives away exactly what the stock does haha. It is hinged on the right, which means it will fold right, the length adjustment tab is just forward of the comb slider which elevates the comb for high mounted optics. The stem is made out of Aluminum alloy, and the "plastic" components are made out of high-density acrylic. Despite having "screws" on the outside that you an see in the 3 corners of the hollow area, they are actually rivets to strengthen the arcs from falling or bashing someone. So the stock is 100% solid acrylic, and the rivets go straight through to the other side.
If you're wondering how it locks, there is a little system I invented for it because I didn't want it to snap to an anchoring point on the receiver or fore-grip at all. If you look directly on the hinge, you'll notice a rectangular notch. When you close the stock, a tab flows into the notch and blocks off swinging motion to the stock. To release the stock, you slide the tab with a thumb plate and it swings free, back to the extended position.
Hope this answers all your questions regarding the stock

The problem was that on the to of the joint between stock and receiver is a screw or bolt that looks similar to the hinge on the right so I thought it might be on the other side. And the lenght adjustment tab could have also been part of the cheek piece. I just wasn't completely sure.
But now that I've got all the fact one problem pops up in my mind: you can't fire the gun with the stock folded because the ejection port is blocked. I would think about a solution for this if you haven't already or else a foldable stock wouldn't be very useful. I'd suggest either a change of the stock design or a diffrent angle for the hinge that it folds under the ejection port.

Actually, Seth, I just figured it out and it was actually a pretty simple modification. I was playing around with my SIG 551, and noticed that the bore axis is directly perpendicular to the top crest of the stock, which is where I wanted it on mine as well. I dropped the anchoring point of the stock 15mm and that gave it perfect clearance for shells to eject over it! I'll update this post with the pick as soon as I finish the comb riser. The angle got thrown off after dropping the stock that far down.

Ok here it is. I made a side by side so you can see the stock open and closed. The port appears to be covered a little at the bottom, but the shells are ejecting out at a high angle much like an AK, so they will fly clean over the stock without issue.
