I've been following the pages from the start and have to say this was a nicely turnabout reveal from the flashback to the present moment, the frames are well done and you have a solid vision you're sticking with, excellent work.

Really nice comic you have here, I would like to question the reasoning behind the blonde highlights when she's an adult, however.
Was it some side effect or augmentation like the change in Carter A-259's eyes?

Its a something she does herself using a combination of chemicals she finds onboard UNSC ships that creates the bleaching effect on her bangs. Her hair grows extremely fast to the point it is a waste of her time to actually try and take the time to properly groom it to regulation length and so she is given some freedom to do what she wants with it.
She found the chemicals and their effects on her hair so when she does chop her hair (with a combat knife) she lets the chemicals bleach the tips when its all said and done. She does have to time it right otherwise it degrades her hair to the point of it being brittle since the chemicals are faster at bleaching her hair then well... bleach.

I appreciate you taking the time to answer this. I am curious as to why she doesn’t just do her bangs and ends since it looks rather odd being in the places it is.
However, it is her hair therefore I haven’t much to say on it. My Spartan uses her combat knife as well which gives it an uneven appreance. Which is why I’ve got nowhere to stand on that subject.
Due to her place in UNSC ranks they leave her be instead of her having the issue of it growing quick. (Mine does. Got it cut shoulder length a month ago and it’s already in the middle of my back. Bit of a bitch.) Suppose your logic of it growing faster than normal would make more sense hence augmentations than my sorry plot excuse.

She doesn't even comb her hair so she bleaches any strands of hair that aren't straightened with the rest of the longer hair.
Her hair grows 3-4 times faster then normal human hair. You could shave her bald and in 1 week she'd have full head of hair.
