Since I need to massively crop all of my other images, they'll be up on the morrow. I don't have PS on this computer *sniffle* and so I don't want to just half-ass crop in paint like I did for the first one. It's not bad, but I really like the other ones. Plus, I need to put together 6 images >.>

Anyway..

This is an interesting piece. Our final project for screenprinting was "record/record" and we could interpret that any way we wanted to.

As a very weird individual, I have many physical (and psychological) scars. To me, scars are probably the most fascinating thing ever. I love them for no real reason. But I do. I think that they are a very clear record of a persons life in the same way that they record the events that have shaped that person and made them who they are.

See what I did there?

Since I am touchy about some of my more...personal scars, I chose a different way to manifest my idea.

I adore Mello. He is an amazingly deep character, wracked with a wonderfully twisted psyche and a damn sexy (and obvious) physical scar.
So, instead of using myself, I used an amazingly fucked up and glorious character that I find myself identifying with from time to time.

The scar is made up of two layers of text reading different emotional/psycological scars that he (or anyone) can have. But, instead of being on the inside, they have made up his actual physical scar on the surface.

Personally, I like it.

A lot of myself went into this, and I honestly do not intend this to be a fan art. This was just me taking a very personal matter and projecting it onto a fictional character who I find identifiable at times (never had half my face blown off. just saying).

So, all of that said, I hope you enjoy this piece. Please DO NOT USE in any way, shape, or form unless you get written permission from me, Corinne Powell.

And yes, the model for Mello was based off of a picture of me. You're your best model, amirite?
