Whenever I see a fractal artwork like this that I really like, I feel like I should do fractals again but I never seem to be able to find the time

That actually is not a fractal but is a 3D image made in Bryce where you take a ball and chrome it and then add torus and other things and reflect them within the chromed ball.
I would love to learn how to do other things inside that ball. Hope you get back into fractals.

I downloaded Bryce a few months ago and tried but even with a tutorial I didn't get the gist of how to work it. I'll need to study it better.

To get the abstracts like the Center Prizm - You have to put a torus or two inside a ball with colored lights and move the pieces around. It can get quite crazy at times.
