Description Last time on Primitive-War Z,
"He left the Sacred Grove to aid them but he may have left behind a more than he ever realized..."

---------------------------------

The Amber Tree,
One thousand years Magnetite sat there in deep meditation but never was he ever truly alone. The Gem Civil War had many casualties, least among them a new and unremarkable resin gem. A gem who was completely incinerated following a devastating attack that left many dead on both sides. You see, for the decadent and noble no other servant than a Pearl will do but for mildly privileged, there was always the humble resin gem. Artificial and temporary, their lives were limited and they were meant to serve those who couldn't afford real servants or for task too dangerous to waste actual gems on. That should have been the end of her story and in many ways it was, a small shadow burnt into the charred husk of a tree but you see, resin is stronger than most realize. Under the right conditions, it can even survive the test of time herself...

They say it was an experimental weapon, that it had much hope but had proven too dangerous for any one of the Diamonds to have sole dominion over or so they say. By a joint effort to finish the project before the war had even truly started, many gem's had assembled with the sole task of preserving, perfecting and protecting the weapon for it's final test trial, for it's first test on a planet infested to the brim with organics. It's completion would have ensured gem dominance for many an age to come but in the final days of testing, rebels infiltrated the sanctuary and sabotaged the machinery causing it to explode during its next test run. It destroyed all life, organic or otherwise, within a 5000 mile radius leaving nothing but shadows and ash in it's wake. She was outside at the time, she was watering the test subjects when a blast of cosmic radiation of unprecedented levels burned her image into a lone tree she was standing next to. Remarkably, the tree was the only thing survive the initial blast and resulting fallout. Maybe it was luck, maybe it was fate but looking back on it, even a Sapphire could not have predicted what would happen next. Her code, the very recipe of gem life itself, had been burnt, nay seared unto the tree to near molecular perfection. Everything they where, everything they could be and everything they strove for, all in one neat little package. A living-machine with no power to fuel it's organic heart, rendering it dormant for many years. It might have stayed that way indefinitely, had it not been for the timely intervention of a very weary traveler.

The Memories of a Wanderer,

He laid his back against the tree to rest. "Only for a moment..." he told himself. Long and far had he traveled to get here, longer more did he plan to travel but why? Where is here anyhow? Chasing ghosts no doubt. The memories of a life long forgotten, maybe even one he never truly held, enemies that never were and foes yet to be. They knew him by name, they feared his every step like a waking nightmare but he knew not why or even how this came to be. So many questions, so few answers just beyond his reach and he never felt there was enough time. He was with others, three but now they were gone and he grew tired of walking. As he shifted his position, all it took was a single spark, a passing glance to start what once lay inactive. By chance, his gem touched the core of the hollowed out tree.

Without knowing how or understanding why, the touch alone left him feeling at peace. A peace he had not felt since her, a strong but fleeting memory. It was as though a wound on his soul had been mended in the soft ashen breeze. This land of smoke and death, yet in all his travels he had never known this sort of peace since the day he set out on his way. Grim though his surroundings may be, it brought a stillness to his mind. A clarity as he rested, the traveler could feel his eye lids growing heavier every minute. His people were used to the practice of sleeping and did so with regularity but not his enemies, they never tired and they never faltered, always in pursuit. Sleep was never an option with so many enemies around every corner, he'd almost forgotten what it even was but now?

"I'll just close my eyes for a moment" he thought to himself as he drifted off to sleep. When he awoke, the night had turn into day and ashen wind had all but finally settled. No enemies had followed him here and why would they? There was nothing here for him to destroy and most assuredly, nothing here they desired. Just the grey plains that stretched on for miles and the silence of this fallen world. He closed his eyes again but this time, he saw images of a time long lost to the ages. He saw rebels, the scientists and a poor unfortunate gem caught between them. He saw them all obliterated before his eyes and awoke in a panic. The stars in the night sky above had changed once more and now he could feel the pressure of this world's magnetic field, it had shifted in the last couple of months. At least a three months had passed since he lay down to rest. He placed his hand against the tree, even now her image had persisted on the forsaken black bark of this tree. Had he caused this? Had the Primitives destroyed this world too? Looking around the wasteland, it was hard to ever imagine that life once called this place home. He was not gem but nor was he like the Beastmen. The lost of life, both organic and inorganic, was regrettable but he could do nothing for them now.

As he walked the soot cover fields and surveyed the carnage with newfound insight, a small glimmer of green beneath the ash caught his eye. Magnetite knelt down and slowly swiped his hand across the ash, pushing it aside. Before him a small green sprout of clover sprang from the lifeless ash below, defiant to the shadows all around it. He let out laugh "Are you all alone too?" he thought. "Your a brave creature little one, to return to this land of smoke and ash when you did..." he mused. Where only death exist, we find ourselves in such strange world. "What wonders will I find when I awake again?" he pondered even further. "What memories might I see this time?" he stared at the tree but no answers came to him and yet with each day, time flowed so slowly and without seam but never ending or even slowing down, days into night, nights into days. It took forever and yet was gone in the blink of an eye. Slowly, even animals would returned to the Sanctuary, to this new home of his and in time, he would find the peace he so desperately sought. He would even take up arms to defend this home from invaders when the time to take action came...

Amber Tree,
For one thousand years, Magnetite was unknowingly feeding the dormant Amber Tree from his vast stores of power. Together they healed the Sacred Grove and for every hundred years they were together, the Tree produced a single Amber gem from the resin still within her basin. The transference of power between the two gems and the magnetic forces produced by it, aged the resin into Amber within less than a hundred years but a thousand years came and went. Now there were many Amber gems and though they all started off as copies of the original, impurities, time and magnetic fluctuations in the world's gravity had made each unique to the years they held. Together they where as a family, even if Magnetite knew nothing of them inside the tree's hollow. Eventually the day Magnetite's past would catch up to him came, a child called upon him for aid and he gladly left to repay his debt to child and to his brothers.

He didn't know of the Amber Tree or even why life had been restored to the Sanctuary in the first place. So of course he didn't know that it was his power that had restored life to the Sacred Grove and that in leaving, he had abandoned them to their fate. What happen next, was never as she intended. In all her years together with Magnetite, she had never felt this way since the day her Grove was destroyed by rebels all them years ago. All of their Amber gems, all of the work they had created together. Her anger, her rage pooled until her form took shape. As bolt of lightning struck, splitting the tree in half in one thunderous crack, Amber Tree stood a gem once more. The tree now broken and charred, it's bark lay scatter across the ground. As the smoke cleared, Amber Tree took her first step unto the world they both worked to heal and fell to her knees, in all this time not once had she tried to take her physical form again. For all she knew it was an impossibility and yet here she was. A gem in all her glory once more but no longer was she disposable, no longer was she without value, to be forgotten at the drop of a hat or left behind to rot for a thousand years on her own with no one to keep her company. She felt scorned, betrayed even but her anger did not lay with Magnetite. Her anger was for those who took him away. She collected the many Amber gems that lay scattered at her feet and set out to find her Magnetite, she would bring him back at any cost. Even if that means destroying another paradise in the process...

---------------------------------

Weapons, skills and etc.

Possessive Temperament - Amber Shaper:

Amber Tree is a Shaper who molds her resin to fit any need she may have at the time, whether that be wings for flight, arms for fighting or hair for beauty, she excels in all these. However such abilities do not come cheap. Amber requires resin to use nearly all of her abilities and though only a few of her abilities consume it in the process, Amber Tree always runs the risk of depleting her reserves if not careful. Therefore, she must always have a source at hand for her more powerful abilities as she is unable to create her own without assistance from the original Amber Tree's basin. Amber Tree's ability to shape, mold and control all forms of Amber and resin even extends to other gems. Though she's never resorted to it, she could easily assert this control to force other her other Amber gems to do her bidding.

Electrical Charge:

Most gems retain some electrical properties but Amber has always been reputed to have the highest affinity for it. Able to call lightning straight from her finger tips or even sky itself when there's a charge in the atmosphere. Amber unleashes devastating bolts of electricity with ease and doing so will consume little to no resin in the process but use of this ability must be done so with caution. As an amber gem, she retains the same innate fear and weakness to fire that others of her kind possess.

Resonating Vibrations:
Through as of yet unknown means, Amber Tree seems to still possess a high level of resonating energy that causes sonic vibration capable of completely incapacitating organics or outright stunning other gems. These abilities seem to consume high amounts of resin and can easily deplete her stock if not monitored carefully but this force can even shatter glass and physically harm some organics on impact. By listening to vibrations, she can also use a passive form of this ability to grant her a near unmatched awareness of her surroundings.

Amber Healing:
Amber's healing powers are questionable at best but highly effective on organics, as she is not the Master-Shaper like Turquoise, she cannot as of this time use her abilities to heal other gems. Though it has been theorized to be within her power scope. Use of this healing amber can do anything from restoring cuts and wounds to even reversing the effects of aging in organics. Though the likely hood of her doing this, of her own volition at least, is dubious to say the least.

Amber Prison:

Using her excess resin, Amber may create a prison by hardening her grip around bothersome foes but this action will consume a hefty amount of resin that cannot usually be reclaimed from the hardening process used in it's creation.

Weakness: All of Ambers abilities require resin, without resin Amber is powerless. Additionally, though pleasantly sweat when in the presence of Magnetite, without him Amber becomes very irritable to point of all out aggression against anyone or anything standing between her and he. Interestingly enough, this doesn't apply to her copies no matter how far apart if at least one Amber is always near Magnetite.

Finally got my Amber Gem,
Interesting note, her concept sketch is nearly as old as Magnetite because I always envisioned the tree he was sitting against as a gem but never quite got around to it. So I need to stop with the weapon molding gems, admittedly she's not as bad as Turquoise or Black Pearl but I feel Like I've used too many as of late. In her defense, I've always seen her with a Midna-like hair weapon and Turquoise only got it because he was looking fairly bland by comparison to his brothers but still. Turquoise doesn't really use his sand as a primary, he fights mostly by dive kicking enemies into oblivion as himself and with the occasional sand clones assist on the side, not to mention the glass aspect that came later. Regardless unlike either him or Black Pearl, Amber is limited by her dependency on a local source of resin or how much she happens to be carrying around at the time. This was done in much the same manner as Lapis, except resin is a little harder to come by (in comparison to water anyhow). In certain types of forested areas she's just as powerful in not more dangerous than Lapis was with an entire ocean, due to her less than stable personality. Threw in a bit of Klaxxi sonic vibrations too, I love those little guys and that was about the most enjoyable thing I've done in Warcraft in a long time. No rip for the Paragons of the Hive, they'd rather be fighting anyhow and to friends that may never be...

Sad the Bark-Bonnet didn't quite make it into the final stages but the collar aint so bad, kind reminds me of Maleficent (somwhat fitting in that regard, Amber's personality is like one of those old Disney witches anyhow). Also, it's now head cannon for me, that all gem's who use an element like Water, Sand or Resin as a weapon are called "Shapers". Might remove the older one, not sure, I botched this submission to hell and back so we'll see how it goes. Also might have borrowed the Star vest from somebody's Jasper reformed design but for the life of me I can't seem to find them again, if anyone know this design I'd really appreciate a name to credit because it was love at first site, needless to say but I'm a big fan of both vest and Jasper so it hit all the right boxes.

This is certainly new but maybe not the best way to advertise. A lot of people out there and likely here too, tend to look down on shameless shilling. That said, as a follower of the Mighty YouTuber Jesse Cox and his little buddy Crendog, I am not one those people and you are welcome to do so as long as you don't spam my page or channel with more than one. Minor notes, you may wish to check your YouTube link as it isn't working for me right now.
