I've had 5 longhair miniatures. The latest one is 18, a Chocolate Dapple and other than being blind and deaf now, she is still going strong. Loves to run in the garden (under strict supervision) No pun intended! Dachsies have a way of worming their way into your heart.

Oh yes, dachshunds are great!
Even though ours are "just" mixes. Muffin doesn't show much of
his dachshund ancestorsΒ  though, he's more of the German Shepherd
in temperament. Toby is very dachshund-y xD

Their mother was a wire-haired dachshund.
