Description Here's some character designs I drew for a rejected Elseworld's Batman story I wanted to write and draw. It was going to be set during World war One and featured Bruce Wayne as a pilot of L'Escadrille Lafayette avenging the death of his parents by The Hun (they were onboard the Lusitania when it was torpedoed by a german U-Boat).
The Joker was going to be German officer, based on Von Richtofen. Codenamed The Killer Clown because of his duelling scars which have distorted his lips into a hideous grin and because of his garishly coloured aircraft in which he lead the notorious "Flying Circus", as his squadron was known.
You might also recognise Harvey Dent, a disfigured french pilot.

I would have read the hell out of this. It's a damn shame that DC seems to have lost interest in Elseworlds in general, but especially disappointing that they've have turned this down. Do you recall if French Harvey would have been a hero or villain? And would Hans Von Hammer and/or Balloon Buster (are there any other WWI DC characters?) have made cameos?

They rejected this but crap like Franken Castle is published?! I'm not into Elseworlds stuff, but this is damn good artwork. And I'm sorry those hacks didn't give it a chance.
