He got the eye ability from Ayano(or some said) For me this is what I think after hearing opinions of others, Shintarou got an eye ability from Ayano. For me, I think Ayano sacrificed herself for Kido, Kano, Seto, Shintarou, Konoha, and Ene. Referring to Ayano's Theory of Happiness, she knew that things will sooner or later get bad so she suicided and then got the ability, since what she wanted was a world full of happiness, she sacrificed herself, so that everybody's future won't be ruined. I also think(a bit) that Ayano, brought the members all together. That was her ability, but maybe it was so strong that's why she had to sacrifice herself or maybe it's Maybeline(dafuq am I saying). It's just a theory though, and about Shintarou's eye ability, Ayano gave him an ability so that maybe he wouldn't be depressed(Black Konoha and Shintarou) and think about killing himself anymore. It still needs more detail, I tried writing their relationships in a paper but all I saw was my signature written a million times, it's ultra complicated. Maybe Jin will reveal us everything in the anime .-.

It's confusing. If you watch Kagerou Days you'll see that time is looping, I have a feeling this is Azami's endless world and since her snakes have different abilities maybe she gave them all their abilities. I wish baka-tsuki would translate the novel ;_;
