Hey guys, you remember a while ago when I drew the picture of the Duke Nukem 3D Assault Enforcers? If you don't here it is again: [link]

Well as gamers will know, at least in the FPS department new games are in kind of a drought all the big releases are marked towards December and what not, so I've found myself playing through the 4 campagnes of Duke3D once again. The game IS much more playable with the Eduke source port after all.

Well anyway, thought I'd take a short break from Christine and draw this little idea that randomly popped into my head. I was playing through Duke, blasting and gibbing my way through the Tricloid troops when all the sudden I thought, wow think about how cute these bloodthirsty aliens might have looked when they were babies. ....Yeah fake war makes you think weird things >.>;

Anyway, as I drew it I guess it kind of developed the whole anti-war message type of thing I always had with Klaus. The whole thing about loss of innocence and whatnot, about how people aren't born evil but are manipulated into it through life experience or in the instances of Klaus and these little fellows.. classed in it.

Think of this my fellow Duke players, think about all the Enforcers you've blown up, expanded and popped, shrank and squished, and just plain shot to death! Think about all that and then look at this, you stop and realize that at some point those nasty critters where sweet playful little baby alien dinosaur.. things, forced into the evil state you fight them in.... you feel like kind of an ass hole now don't you? XD

I know Irken-Defect for one has always had something very poetic to say about this whole loss of innocence subject, I'm curious to hear what he has to say now.

Oh and for anyone curious, that thing the little baby is reaching out for is the gold nose ring that all the Enforcers wear. I assume it's a kind of traditional object, like that whatever the Enforcer group is called use it as kind of a right of passage type of thing. I could assume seeing how wide a nose they have, that having that pierced could be a pretty painful event, so it could be a pain tolerance right of passage type thing too. I guess maybe my idea here was that they dangle these over the nursery areas to inspire the babies or something?... eh I dunno.. 9_9
