Oh I know the very one you're talking about it's one of the first intact Corvegas you can come in contact with I think.
Actually I believe I have a picture of it: half-dude.deviantart.com/art/F...

I am finally getting around to commenting things in your gallery. I'm a bit slow but better late than never, I suppose.
This is actually a pretty cool model concept, and in many ways it's reminiscent of the 1958 Ford Nucleon, which was supposed to be a concept for a nuclear powered car. Although the Nucleon looks more retro, while this retains it's vintage style. Very beautiful drawing.

Hey awesome man. Nothing wrong with that, I'm pretty slow at responding, as you've noticed.
Yeah I know it's based off the Nucleon, I'm surprised you know about that Nucleon, I'd have never heard about it if I hadn't looked up information about this car in the game.

I actually learned about the Nucleon from my father. He told me about it, and I decided to look into it. I'm always trying to learn more about classic cars, and the interesting concepts they had back then. I also learn about concept cars from watching the Mecum Auctions.

Oh it's not in a folder. Here it is. This was a pretty disappointing picture to make on a ratio of 'how hard to make' to 'how much feedback I got.' I guess maybe my technical talk flew over everyone's heads.. : T

Also in my scraps I've got an unfinished drawing of the sports car model Corvega that's in Fallout 3:

Man this was buried like a rare treasure. I really need to respond to everything. We have so many conversations...and I love it xD It might take me a while but I respond to everything.
Well, I can say that I'm not as tech savvy as you are, but I can try to give you some feedback that might be worth something. If I can't I apologize and I will just walk into my corner of shame. I don't like being that one person who jumps into conversations and pretends they know what they're talking about in a feeble attempt to fit in while the real knowledge holders look at them like 'you failure'.
I shall give comments on both of these. I really need to kick myself in the ass and give you more insightful comments on things. I might do that tonight, I'll at least comment three pictures since I'm feeling more chatty today.

Half-dude In reply to ChevyRW [2012-04-28 04:10:02 +0000 UTC]
Probably the fact that it was a nuclear/atom bombing that destroyed the world. I'd assume that's a sensitive subject there.

ChevyRW In reply to Half-dude [2012-04-28 20:54:17 +0000 UTC]
Actually, Mr. Burke ws edited out, so you couldn't blow up Megaton. because the name of the bom in the town ,"Fat Man", was the same name of the bomb that nearly destroyed Hiroshima.

Half-dude In reply to ChevyRW [2012-04-28 23:02:58 +0000 UTC]
I think a Fat-Man is actually a name for a class of bomb.. not one bomb in particular. If you recall, the mini-nuke launcher was called a Fatman too.. I assume they changed the name of that as well?

Yes you're right, but here's what I was referring to:
"The name also refers more generically to the early nuclear weapon designs of U.S. weapons based on the "Fat Man" model." - from wikipedia.
But technically you're right.

There's a mod for Fallout New Vegas that puts drivable cars in the game. There's four types of cars and hundreds of each variant are scattered around. One of these drivable variants is a mint-condition '34 Ford Coupe!!! And the game takes place in 2281, making the 1934 Fords 347 years old!!!
It's really mind-boggling to think that a 1930s Ford survived the 2050s-2070s gas crisis, nuclear war, the test of time and remained in brand-new condition to the year 2281!!!

ive been thinking of this , surley the Corvega was oversized, and unnessary big, i say this after i drew a limozine police car which is ironic, but the point is, surley in the time of an energy crisis to have these massive things running on fusion doesnt make scence, and what kinda fusion was this if it was nuclear fusion , then we have 300 million years of that stuff on earth, or if it were raw fusion, then if the car explodes then than it would blow up an enitre city

Half-dude In reply to dunemoonbeam3 [2011-04-22 02:53:36 +0000 UTC]
Well yeah, in the world of Fallout it doesn't completely make sense. But they're trying to make a nod to the 50s at the same time..but some of those nods conflict with the story of Fallout's world. Cars were so big in the 50s because gas was so cheap.. this really isn't the case in Fallout's world and thus yeah doesn't make a ton of sense. XD
I'm not really an expert of nuclear stuff so I can't really theorize with you. All I know is that the cars were still electric cars at their base. The nuclear core would heat recycled water into steam, the steam would in turn run turbines (the gear-heads seen in the empty core-ports in the Corvegas may be those turbines) and the turbines would generate the electricity to power the vehicle's electric motor. All of these parts would have to be extremely small..impressively small actually.. but really, it's a very efficient form of power for a vehicle. With that said I could see their large size not being a HUGE issue.. but anyone with half a brain during an economic downfall should have seen the benefit of making the cars smaller to get better... "nuclear-milage?" ..that's that part that doesn't make a ton of sense. XD

well you seem to know alot about the fallout universe, its probably one of the best fictional settings out there. im not a fan of games like mass effect, star trek ect just becuase i like sci fi to be toned down to the real world. While playing vegas i felt that the game was massively conservatively sci fi, roman gangs in 2200's what the heck, You may have noticed that in fallout new vegas the new car wreks were far more 50's looking. the police cars looked exactly the same as it came from the 50's size and everything aside from the mini reactor at the back which looked like a jet engine. I dont know ifs to conservative, but what seems appart is that the fallout uiniverse is still trying to figure itself out. same happened with gta, liberty city has been redesigned twice

first of all tell me if u have any other post fallout art, secondaley this car kinda reminds me of a 50's utopia car, i remember looking at a mint conditioned one of these in the simulator and remembering that its actualy very very long the size of a van almost around 7 or 8 door lengths fit into the side of this car, now in the spirit of 50's utopia, i have been a somwhat interested in a retro future, enougth to make a film series on a retro future island that get information from the future and controlls the rest of the world, (in present) so that one day the world can become a 50's utopia, however its early days, but the art of it is partly post fallout inspired, long story short just tell me what u think of this, if u want [link] and heres a video including a 50's utopian car

They are really.. thanks for pointing it out, probably about 2-3 feet longer then Christine. Maybe it's to to make room for whatever shielding is around that reactor.
Really? For a reactor it seems amazingly small to me. XD Wait.. where have you seen the back of the car? Oo
So without the nuclear part we're left with a classic 50s car XD so pretty much you mean you still wish we had 50s style cars right? If so..I SO agree. But unlike you, I think the idea behind the interchangeable nuclear reactor idea seems very efficient and enviro-friendly.. granted they worked to make them super super safe and melt-downless.
Aw thank you dear, I'm glad it came out well. <3
