This piece of art was originally shown at the 2016 Glastonbury Festival as a fun offshoot of my #CONSUME series. It's a satirical little mashup of political commentary that I felt expressed a lot of the feelings invoked by this year's election. We all seem to be the losers regardless of who wins the only thing that changes is who gets to wield the knife to make that first cut. But Donald Trump...well let's just say that I didn't have to change much to make him a pig.This art parodies our current political spectrum and juxtaposes it into George Orwell's Animal Farm which inspired me greatly as a human being and an artist. I am currently working on plans to turn this concept into an animated series because it just feels like the right time for someone to hold up that Orwellian mirror to our leaders and say..WTF? It's really hard for me to look at this piece since it reminds me of the novel "Nastya" by modern Russian author Vladimir Sorokin (unfortunately I'm not sure if it was already translated into English or not). Its theme is more philosophical and isn't connected directly with politics, however I guess you may find it interesting. Sorokin is a powerful satirist, just like Orwell.
