Wow. Tim Schafer commissioned you for any artwork lately? ^__^
This makes me feel like I just popped open someone's vault in real life. Ah, the sweet scent of victory and being a Psychonaut!! *delusional*

Wow this is an amazing piece. I love Psychonauts and to this is just so awesome! Truly Psychonauts' fan are of a different breed. I never thought much about Crispin, but your work sheds some light on him. Which I guess is what art is about: giving light to a subject.

I love when people do memory vaults. I think Crispin looks cute here too. And I wish we could go into his head too. He just stood there. We couldn't see what made him human. That is why Psychonauts is as amazing as it is. Not only is every character full of life, but we even get to see what makes them human. You showed a good point. I like what you used on the vault.

This is awesome. I always liked Crispin, but he was skipped. D: I'm sure they wanted to do his mind at first, but had to do without it.
Very interesting and well done!

Wholly madness!
Me and my buddy came up with a crazy back story for em to... Only ours involed cults, divorced parents, saints, demons, fires, and was pretty much a cross over between psychonauts and a game series called Silent hill (which I would recomend BTW)
I ronicly enough, one of the charecters, from the third SH, looked and sounded like a realistic female version of Crispin (seriously, here's a link to a pic of her ([link] ) we, maybe its not the best, and her forehead isn't as big, but after playing the game for hours on end and listening to her voice, the simalarities are uncanny) So, I made that lady his twin sister.
Even though their parents had devoiced only a month before they were born, Claudia (SH lady) and Crispin tried to stay good friends. Claudia was forced to stay with her abusive and insane father while Crispin stayed with their mother back in the UK, but they tried to stay in touch, and.... Damn, I'm blabbering again. Sorry, I jus drank half of a 24oz energy drink and I cant stop shaking XD
but anyways, this looks like offical art, seriously! And lil Crispy juz lookes so adorableXD and his forehead lookes a little more normal. Poor kid, that thing'll probably never stop growing XD
(BTW, I have a friend whoes afraid of moths)

I absolutely love this! It looks exactly like the memory vaults in the game. They were always my favorite things to find, since I was always so curious about whatever unfortunate thing had driven the person nuts. Awesome!
P.S: Poor Crispin. ._. I know someone who's afraid of butterflies. XD Close!

You see, I was raised in one of those families where we're not allowed to have video games. Or sugary cereal. It was a HUGE treat to get frosted flakes. I mean HUGE. You have never seen children this excited by frosted flakes.
And I was okay with that. I had my cheerios, and lots of free time to do more exciting things. Like play with bricks.
And then, I start reading about Psychonauts. It sounds like fun. A lot of fun. More fun even than bricks. And my happiness bubble is broken.
You broke my happy bubble. I hope you know that.
(Oh, but as always, I love your art. Much love.)

I do not think I have ever seen frosted flakes within the threshold of my house, either. My parents were of the unfathomable opinion that they were bad for the teeth. So now I have no fillings but I am so unused to artificial flavourings that I can get high off a single Oreo.
I am sorry that I broke your happy bubble. *gives glue*

Well, Psychonauts came out in the States a while ago, I got it when it came out in the UK last month. I got it in a Virgin, I guess just try your local games place.

Heee...I remember that JV quote. =3 *nerd*
Oh man, I remember hearing about this in a chat. The moment I heard it, I was intrigued, partly because, hey, we all have this kind of guilt when a loved one dies, and even moreso when we're there when they die...it kind of twists you.
The last panel just rocks in terms of atmosphere. You can almost hear sinister children laughing and those creepy nightmares from Milla's level going "WHY DID YOU LET ME DIE?" "I LOVE YOU!" "CRISSSSSSPIN!" and various happy stuff like that.
Anyways, excellent job.

Ah I had to read the description XD
Whereas I agree with a lot of the things Jhonen Vasquez says, that one kinda irks me. If your character doesn't have a conflict, you don't have a good story. There always has to be some kind of interal or external conflict with the character, even with Johnny!
Great job, I like the style!

oh, truetrue, but what I took him to mean is that you shouldn't make some twagic incident in the Past the entire foundation of a character. Sometimes it's just better that someone always was and always will be a total arse.

I think JV's just too lazy to spend the time giving NNY a backstory. Well, it's that and he doesn't want us to empathize with NNY.

If people started empathizing with NNY, the world would be a VERY bad place. Imagine all the stick figure cartoons and carcasses just lying in the street. Those things are fire hazards...
