Description *The second half of the "Dance of the Cranes"...So it's Rin after all. He is the mc of the novel and "Rin" was actually his younger sister's name but he used it after he became a wanderer (seeking  for revenge) XD His real name was Otomori (Ryouichi) Tazukage. His father was a vassal of Akita clan (Ugo of the northern Dewa Province) before the Battle of Sekigahara. He was a skillful nodachi user

DANG!! This man is stunning. The crane is fabulous and the details in the armor keep the crane from totally stealing the show. I love his color scheme and how it plays off of the female piece to this.

Thank you very much and I'm so glad that you like this pic after all!
It took me long time for making decision; which color base I would choose for his armor... I saw many real samurai armors from Edo period (from books). Most of them were painted with red or blue color. So I decided to use brown color base and highlight with orange ropes.
You're right! My poor crane looks like a distant background because of Rin's armor. Manchurian cranes are mostly together for life. That's why I choose it as the symbol for both mc. (This story is historical, action, martial art and a bit of ROMANTIC after all)

I was saying the armor balances the crane out. It's a good thing. I didn't realize you were using copics until I looked at ur profile
I thought these were acrylic!

I see Now I understand!
Yes, I always sketch and line with pencil first, then paint colors with copics. I've painted with acrylic before but long ago and not on paper.
