Once thought to be a monster so cold,
Feared by heroes in the legends of old.
Yet there in the dark, hidden away,
Women and children lie hiding, having chosen to stay.
Safe in the lair of their guardian 'snake',
Villains dare not enter fore they know what's at stake.

Those are not her children.
Exploring the concept of Medusa not just being one of the monstrous gorgons within the greek pantheon, but being the 'guardian' and 'protector' of those society deemed weak/exploited.
Mixing modern ideologies with the classic mythical story.
