Lich leaving Genesis
“What happened down there Roy,” asked Fred.
“To my helmet,” responded Roy Hamm, “or what happened down there.”
“Both,” said Fred with a concern voice.
“Well, first the good news, we were able to shutdown the Forerunner Composer, but then Lord Kadmon shows up. Yet turns out Kadmon’s body has been possessed by some ancient alien that has a major grudge against the Forerunner. It then uses the Composer to separate its conscience from Kadmon's body and compose a new alien body for himself. Then it let us go for some reason, or we teleported out of there, not really sure what happened.”
“Whoa, that’s a lot of take in,” said Fred as he removed his helmet and placed it next to Commander Hamm’s broken one. The broken helmet, had taken major damaged to its visor, but was still relatively intact.
“Yeah, and we have Kadmon back again,” said Hamm, “I think so at least.”
“So, what’s the deal with Cortana,” asked Commander Hamm.
“She’s human,” responded Fred as the two looked at Cortana who was sitting on a crate with Linda’s sniper veil around her as a makeshift dress.
“Really,” said Hamm, “How’s that possible.”
“I really don’t know Roy,” responded Fred, “But I have a feeling that Composer had something to do with it.”
“So that Composer gave us two naked people,” commented Hamm, “remember when Forerunner technology just tried to kill the galaxy.”
“Kinda,” laughed Fred-104, “I see that we have a new Forerunner Monitor to talk as well.”
“Yeah, 343 went MIA during the Battle of the Ark,” replied Hamm, “And every other monitor that we have encountered before was captured by the Empire.”
“So, even though the mission went bad..,” began Fred.
“Even though things went South,” finished Hamm, “we still scored a win.”
“So what is the deal now with Kadmon,” asked Fred.
“I don’t know,” replied Hamm, “The guy who attacked me, wasn’t him, it was that thing.”
“So that thing was what caused the civil war and the rise of the Empire,” said Fred trying to piece things together.
“Yeah, but he may have pay for the actions of that thing,” replied Hamm.
“And there isn’t any part of you that wants Kadmon to pay for what happen?”
“I’d be lying, if a part of me didn't feel like that.”
“Do you think their will be a trial,” asked Alan as he walked up to join them.
“Yeah most likely,” responded Roy, “if we are lucky ONI will make Kadmon disappear and give him a new identity.”
“Do you think they will let him continue being a Spartan,” asked Alan, “Serve with Delta again.”
“That’s not for me to decide,” said Roy leaning back in his armor against a crate which began to crumble under his weight.
The three Spartans watch Agent Lau walk up to Cortana holding his TacPad. Agent Lau began talking with the group, which was composed of Cortana, the Master Chief, Kelly, and Linda. The Spartans in the group left, leaving Cortana alone with Agent Lau.
“What’s going,” asked Fred when the rest of Blue Team walked up to him.
“Debriefing,” said Linda, “If that is what you want to call it.”
Liyet came walking down from the upper deck, where Tezma was, “Tezma has plotted a course for
Master of Olympus.”
“Good,” said Roy.
“What do you have there,” said Alan noticing several packages that Liyet was carrying.
“Lucky for you,” began Liyet, “Tezma has a few UNSC rations in storage.”
“How old are these,” said Fred looking at the package.
“Vegetarian Delight,” said Alan reading the package.
“Where is Jack,” asked Roy.
“She’s keeping an eye on Kadmon,” replied Liyet, “Are all those restraints on him necessary?”
“Better safe, then sorry” said Alan as he picked up another ration pack trying to find something that
sounded edible.
Roy was getting tired and lean forward trying to get more comfortable, “I can’t wait to get out of this
armor.”
“Really,” replied Fred, “You Spartan IV sure are different.”
“Haha, it’s a personal preference,” said Roy, “A good number of Spartan IV prefer to always be in armor like Spartan II.”
The Lich’s gravity began to slightly change as the ship entered slipspace towards the Master of
Olympus’s rendezvous location.
“I feel like we are forgetting something,” said Fred.
“Me too,” agreed Roy.
“Where is Team UNSC,” asked the Master Chief.
“That's it,”said Hamm.
“Weren’t they suppose to be your responsibility,” asked Fred.
“Well, yes,” started Hamm, “but technically no, when the Empire and the Forerunner showed up.”
“Hey, don’t you pin this on me,” rebuttal Fred.
“I am not,” replied Hamm, “things just got complicated and we had to prioritize.”
“And they fell at the bottom,” said Alan trying to defend themselves.
“And they were suppose to be responsible enough to properly check in with us,” added Liyet.
“They are soldiers of the UNSC,” said the Master Chief being the paragon that he was.
“Yeah,” said Hamm, “But I don’t think the UNSC will be missing them.”
