Self-portrait.I wasn't going to post this but then I noticed that my hilariously long fingers are positioned in such a way that it looks like I only have three on each hand. Suddenly I liked the shot a whole lot more.
I also love how the wall acts as a reflector. See how the backs of both hands are lit?
My subscription has ran out and for the first time in years I'm meeting the unsubscribed DA. It is terrifying!
In other news, I've started worked two and a half days a week at a plastic surgery. I am really loving it. The surgeon specialises in re-constructive breast surgery after cancer and the patients and staff are lovely.
Still working on my novel.

Thank you! It is a two and a half day a week job and then I look after my grandmother for one day a week so I still have a lot of days to make art.

I am very lucky. It takes me four hours on the train up and back so I work on my novel, get there, cook scones,clean the house, walk and bath the dog, do any gardening she needs done, do a bit of shopping for her, cook dinner then catch the train home. It makes her incredibly happy. And I do agree: the balance is making all the difference.

Get on that damn train and give Nana a hug for me. If I can think of summat that I know how to make that will keep for a while, I'll note you so you can give it to her later.

No, I didn't miss the other bits of light but it was just easier to draw people's attention to the hands to explain the light.
I'm in SA this work working with a group of teenagers (I've been commissioned to make a piece for the opening of a high school's new theatre) but I'll be back down there next week.

Your expression here is very interesting. The blank eyes, like you'd just stumbled out of bed for a glass of water and found a corpse. The color of your skin would suit the horror genre beautifully. And, your hands, I never noticed the long, thin fingers. The kind of structure id expect to find on a seamstress or cellist. The upper forearm definition tapered to delicate wrists. You have a talent, a true gift for posture and perfect poses. I suppose that's the stage performances shining through. This photo actually gave me the perfect image to get through a stubling block in my novel.

My famiy are all classical musicians and all agree that my fingersare wasted on me. My concert pianist sister actually has the sae length fingers but they are so muscular that they almost look stubby.

I like the really bright spot of sunlight next to your shoulder. You are right, it does look like you only have 3 fingers on each hand! That makes this look even more interesting!
I have no idea what subscribed DA looks like...though I'd assume it's way better than unsubscribed DA!
I'm glad to hear you have a job and are happy there! It sounds like they do wonderful things there.
Also, I can't wait to read more of your novel! The parts you've sent so far are really good!
