Thank you! I really am enjoying this new stencil I picked up a few weeks ago. I've never had one before, so it's kind of like "timetodoeverythingi'vealwayswantedtodowithastencil" time.
And yes, I believe the book is much better off with a fine coat of art.

Letter stencils can be great fun. beats having to render type by hand (thinks back to those days spent at school hand lettering type for my intro to typography prof).
(forgot to mention this earlier, thanks for mentioning the smell of still wet gesso. yumm. I recently found an old stash of oil paints. loverly smelly linseed oil).

Bayootiful! In a way, I think it represents deconstruction very well, because I don't see your art having anything to do with the book, just like deconstruction seems to run over the content of any text. That's not to say that I don't like the detachment here. The title 'visualized chemistry' is begging for it, too.

Yeah, a lot of comments I've gotten about the book pages, both in the book and in pieces seperate from it try to draw a connection to the text, but there really isn't one. I picked up the book because it had interesting diagrams, and the pages just seemed perfect.
