This is the steps from my artwork here -->
The premium download contain 2x resolution of this steps image...just in case you need it.

Steps:
1. Sketch. As usual just brainstorming pose and composition, don't care about anatomy (LOOK AT THAT UGLY EYES).
2. Lineart. Fix everything and make a nice lineart.
3. Base Color. Fill in base colors.
4. Skin Shading 1. Step 4-6 are the example of how I shade.
5. Skin Shading 2. More depth.
6. Skin Shading 3. Do some detail shading like lips and other things.
7. Shading. Do the rest of shading.
8. Adding some yellow overlay. Because Inori's outfit has some yellow.
9. Ribbon + Adding BG. Coloring the ribbon so it looks kind of transparent (using the background color). I also merge the character layers and do some painting on eyes and other parts.
10. Light glow. Adding some light from bottom (green-tosca) and behind the hair (yellowish white) using screen and luminosity layer mode.
11. Add Effects. Draw foreground sparkle and add some overlay layer with dark brown on character to make it more vivid.
12. Finishing + signature. Tone curve, color balance, and saturation adjustment.

I do the shading in one layer (by using color selection tool on base colors) so most of the shading not involving layer mode, maybe using multiply a little bit on eyes then merge it.
I use layer mode for glow and some effects.

Step 1, 2, 11, 12 done in MangaStudio.
The other steps done in PaintTool SAI.
