This is the drawing steps of my artwork below.

The Steps

1. Sketch. Brainstorm the pose and composition.
2. Lineart. I do the lineart on MangaStudio. I use 80% opacity setting with G-Pen brush. Fairly thin size.
3. Base Colors. As usual, my base color is in one layer, basically i just put some color so I can easily select them later (with selection tool) when paint it.
4. 1st Level Shading. An example of 1st level shading on skin.
5. 2nd Level Shading. An example of 2nd level shading on skin.
6. Finish The Shading. Repeat the process until all parts is shaded.
7. Adding Blush, Lips, and Eyes Light. Basically one of my favorite way to make the character look alive. I use multiply for blush, overlay for lips, and combination normal & luminosity for eyes.
8. Adding Other Lights. Finish the lightning with normal layer. I choose desaturated + higher value than the base...I rarely use pure white.
9. Draw Background. I roughly paint the background because I know I will blur it later.
10. Adding Shadow. Add more shadow using multiply on the character then erase the part that exposed to lights.
11. Adding Glow & Depth. Add background dominant color to the character to make more depth. Add the final strong glow with luminosity, it can comes from the main light, ambient light, or metal.
12. Finishing. Adding effect, blur, adjust colors (tone curve, color balance, contrast), adding a slight sand texture.

Step 3 to 11 done in PaintTool SAI.
Step 1,2 and 12 done in MangaStudio.
Tablet: Genius G-Pen F509.
