Description Seriously, if anyone knows where random textile projects belong, feel free to enlighten me.

So this is my recipe binder! I bought a photo album, the kind with pockets, and put my recipe cards in it. I started typing some up, and I'll probably keep doing that ...sometime. The spine is a design I drew up in photoshop and then printed off onto cotton. Yeah I kinda didn't know what I was doing so it's less than perfect up close, but still really cute!

did you just use a run of the mill inkjet or did you go somewhere, I like the artwork but it would be extra kudos if you also printed it with a common household printer.

I printed it at home, I have a better than average printer but yeah, it's not a professional job.

It's not water resistant, so you can't make anything washable, but it does make for nice prints and craftiness

Question! How did you get the cotton fabric to feed through the printer? Do you have a special kind of printer or did it just happen to fit and print out ok?

Hanasu In reply to Layhas [2008-04-05 04:56:31 +0000 UTC]

I cut an 8x10 piece of fabric and stuck a page of sticker paper on the back....hmmm I will try and take pics for a tutorial next time I do it.

I had no idea you could put anything but paper through a printer (and seriously every printer I've come in contact with has had enough trouble just with paper.)
The cover is very pretty and i really like the clean and neat, clear recipe cards/pages.

That is a damn good idea. I have my typed up recipes in a folder but I didn't think to jazz up the folder.
Now you've motivated me to do something. But not textile, I have little sewing skills (aside from cross stitch).

I love the fabrics you've used. And you're 'shrooms are gorgeous. Are those white swirls in the gradient sky? If so (and not a figment of my imagination) then that's a cute idea too.

yes they are swirlies

I had little sewing skills too. I've just decided that I will sew and stole my moms machine. It's going rather well

Wicked awesome (especially printing onto cotton. Man, printing stuff is SO fun..all kinds of print-making).

I love how the mushrooms wrap around to the spine.
