Description This is a lovely comission from my good friend. She chose a variety of kimono fabrics and I matched them up into three-- a deep wine red, a silky cream cantaloupe, and a small amount of dusky blue-and-purple, as though the last of the autumn light is leaving, and dusk has settled on parts of the branch. We really went to town designing this one-- so many drafts.

Soo, this is another half-crown, this one with a synthetic branch. I think it would look really lovely worn like a coronet around the hair. Mostly cultured freshwater (dyed) pearls, with a single faux pearl (the top left leaf has a bigger bead) because I'm whimsical like that...

do you like vintage kimono fabric? I like how the patterns are so delicate. Yuzen kimono silk is great for this-- and these colors make it a sweeping design.

Thoughts?

Ah, I see.  *v*  I'll note you privately later once I get some good pictures of the fabric I need to match.  >v<  (I liked the branch design in this one; the drape is bound to be gorgeous.  *v*  So it's not as much the fabric, but the style that I was asking about.  The fabric doesn't have to be fancy at all~~)

Ahh, if it's the leaves on a branch you're after-- look at this folder: sta.sh/27eiumo56ta I really need to submit these, but I kept forgetting.

(In text thumb-nail)

I made those fairly large so you can see the patterns of the kimono fabric really well.

If you're itnerested in something smaller and more delicate, chiffon, charmeuse, or habutae is better. This is the smallest I get:
(on a doll. <3 ) So I can work upward from there.

Oh this is beautiful. Using fabrics with a pattern, if it's not overdone, give kanzashi really a beautiful touch. I love it. =^.^=
The idea with the purple light is beautiful, too. I'd love to see it donned.

I agree, patterns do look nice with pattern, especially balanced with a solid matching fabric. I'm glad you like my choice in patterns/solid ratio!

I agree-- it would be lovely to see this kanzashi worn outside. One day, I would love to be involved in some modeling kanzashi shoot.

Lovely. Would look nice in a pretty halo braid around the head.

I would love to see more kanzashi being worn. There's something unique about seeing real girls and people wearing flowers in their hair. also, I agree, this'd look smashing with a halo braid.

Branches! So cute, I love them! So this is yuuzen?? Everything's so small, but you can still see the pattern perfectly. Well placed! And what an effort you made to create it~ Wonderful.

And yay for Mr. Mucha!

This is indeed yuzen. I've also got a few other yuzen pieces for my new year's collection this year-- 2016 will be a year of patterned yuzen fabric. At least until fall.

Thank you my dear~

Mucha? Haha, I do not follow.

That's great, I'll be looking forward to it! I actually got a chance to try my hand at yuzen when I visited a friend who lives in Aichi. Extremely difficult, I must say. XD But so wonderful once you've mastered it. I'll never get to that point, though. >///<

I meant Alfons Mucha, the painter. His picture is on the plastic case you use as a stand.^^

I like these. Not too dark and not to bright but a nice in between.

thank you! I agree-- the color scheme is a nice in-between. I think that partially comes from using kimono-- they're naturally going to stay away from extremes, since they'll be worn all day. It's perfect for the customer, too, who I think wants to wear the leaves as often as she can in the fall.

Autumn colors are the best colors. I just love how natural and simple the style of these are. It reminds of the japanese style morigirl.

oh, I think morigirl is an interesting fashion~ I'd be happy of a Morigirl wanted to wear my kanzashi. I'm also glad the leaves read as simple--I think that's just what the owner of this half-crown was going for.

Autum really has my favorite colors I like the cream cantaloupe and the wine red best. they go just lovely together. I'd prefer the left piece but both look beautifull.
