Description This technique is a traditional Japanese art called tsumami zaiku. It is an art that begins with silk squares, which I fold into feathers. It's very like origami, but intended to be worn in the hair, or to decorate your rooms as wall art.

With their swanlike heads, my tsumami zaiku peacocks are an imaginative and playful take on a familiar motif. This white one would work very nicely for a wedding, or for people who want a white peacock decorationf or their hair or table. (I imagine he would preen from above...)

I really enjoy making tsumami zaiku sculptures. I had a lot of custom orders this summer, so working on my creative pieces was...well, they kept getting pushed back. anyway, here he is!

I am reminded of Lucius Malfoy and his White Peacocks in Harry Potter. Β That was the first place I ever heard of white peacocks, you know! Β

Other than that, incredibly elegant. Really graceful neck and sweet expression. The body is deciptively simple in form, and yet I know how much time and patience goes into the creation..especially with those long tails.

So yes, lovely.
