Description My first attempt at a portrait in pencil crayon. I'm happy with it. Done with a mix of Prismacolours and Crayolas.

A job very well done, here, my dear! You’ve done a fairly good job at reproducing the original! (Also, make sure that you ask permission from the original artist to draw their picture, since it’s not a stock picture. Sometimes photographers get a little bit pissy, even if they’re credited)

A few things that I noticed that just stick out to me as being a bit odd are, first, the eyes. They are a bit big here, and they also don’t seem to hold the same intensity as the original. It’s almost like they lake… something. I know that you’re using prisma colored pencils, but I think looking at a few tutorials on pencils would really help: [link]

That is the best bunch of tutorials for pencil medium that I can find. It can help you decide where to put depth in your picture, without making it overwhelming and overdone. For example, the small shadows that appear in the inner corners of her eyes appear very dark in your picture, but in the original, that’s not the case. The most dominant features are the eyes, and the hair. Those, in turn, should be your most prominent features as well. For the most part, you have accomplished it. The part between the lips is quite well done, but the shape of the lips is a bit off. The original model has a bit ‘wider’ lips. That means that they appear to be fuller towards the corners of the mouth, especially on the top. Also be careful of your shading in that area. The original has lips that are a lot softer than you’ve drawn. They have color, like yours, but much more highlight along the top lip, almost so much that is disappears. Be wary of these small little details as you draw.

But you did bring almost all of the focus of your picture to the eyes, which as the main goal of the original picture, so kudos on that my dear!

Keep it up!!
