Dry-brush Watercolor and Pastels11 x 9½"
1989
I did the sky in pastels. The foreground is dry-brush watercolor. I used a well known technique with this. Loaded up a toothbrush with color and ran a finger over the brush to get a spray over parts of the painting. Some found its way even to the sky. The picture's a little sloppy but I figure it's worth showing.

I don't find this sloppy at all. I find it unique and appealing. Wish it was on my living room wall, or somewhere I could see it all the time, it is very peaceful and happy. even a little whimsical. Did you mean for it to fell that way, or is that just me? Anyway, you know how I feel about your work, so I don't need to say much! Hugs, Melissa

the texture is great, it looks really good from afar and then the detail up close is so interesting. it has a simple feel to it yet looks really detailed. i really like this.
