Who says all cats and birds are mortal enemies?
Watercolour and some serious masking .... helped by those pens that erase cartridge ink ( I really recommend a little trial and error on a practise piece to see what those things can do - some brands are better than others but I used cheap ones as they die really quickly sucking up watercolour ink!)

For this one I think I used gum masking fluid - a sticky and unpredictable nightmare *-* I always regret using it the moment I start when it clumps on the brush!!

Wow! this must have been a lot of work, and so fulfilling once you finally pulled off all of the tape and stuff. I really love the white with the strong colours in the background. And, those swirls on the left and the tree on the right are magnificent

Thanks! The larger parts were masked and the eraser pens took out the other bits - they leave a sort of muddiness though, which is where the digital clean up comes in and whitens the parts that needed it
