Description I painted the guy himself months ago, and couldn't decide on an appropriate background for a long time! Eventually I came to this, and I'm pretty happy with it.

The title and subject matter (but not so much the strange creature) was inspired my my Great Uncle Owen.

The background is storybookly sweetly epic. This is the best use of an old, raggedy looking piece of paper since the idea of putting maps on paper like that.

Is he making dust from himself? That's neat. And those artistic things by his ears and tail and mouth make him look extra super busy.

I like giving in-depth comments, and I love getting them!
"I love this" is the kind of comment that gives you an accurate feel for how much people like something or don't, but it's not interesting to read. It just feels good.

And did you actually use a raggedy paper? Like draw it digitally, and then add a photo of the paper you had to use as a background, or was the paper a stock picture from off the 'net or something? Did you have that paper in your house?

Very true about vague comments, I agree!

About the picture: I really truly had that piece of paper in my house!
I collect lots of old bits and bobs, I love finding old bits of paper, I love the texture and history that these old found pieces have!
This image is all traditional mediums, no digital was involved! As well as the "raggedy paper" it is watercolour, collage, pencil and ink!

Not even edited onto the paper as background! And now that I look at him again, he does look like he was originally on the paper and not edited onto it!

I guess it's seems a bit edited because I didn't cut close around him... but I liked that about it...
