I recently entered the Reginald CAE Portrait Prize For Softies,in which the idea was to create a "soft portrait" of someone you admire.
I chose to make my favourite illustrator, Shaun Tan , but rather than make him, I made a 3D interpretation of one of his illustrations to represent him!Β
(You can see the illustration I based it on in the top left corner)
I'm really pleased to announce that I am a finalist in the competition.

I don't think there is someone better. I've been meaning to put up a drawing I did that is similar to his work but just haven't gotten around to it. I will later this week probably. But probably the best and most unique artist ever

I also love Shaun Tan, I've bought all of his books for my nephew. They are so whimsical, I can see why you like him, your styles aren't similar, but he feelings both of your work give are.
