As cold and lonely as they seem in the immediate, naked snowy trees have always had a comforting aura about them to me.

When you find them, you're really happy, because it adds something to the naked landscape. You feel less lonely.

People had trees before they had houses. Also for me being a California native I only ever saw wintry trees and flat snow covered places when my family went to see my grandparents around christmas. So that probably affects me, too.

California is interesting, but since Hollywood is here photographs and video with our weather, backdrop and latitude tend to all have a "look" about them. A look that everyone has seen a lot of. Photos from California rarely stand out.
