for Anime Los Angeles, I was in a group with the lovely phantom-shadow on tumblr trying to get a full cast of Ancestors together, and I got to be the Handmaid! I really like her, and getting to make and wear this costume was really fun, even if removing all my paint took literally days and I bruised my head from people walking into my horns! There's still plenty of stuff I'd like to fix about this, but honestly, I'm pretty happy with it, and especially with my ridiculous drag queen eyelashes.

Costume, wig, and makeup above the neck all made or applied by me. Horns made by phantom-shadow, who also helped me make the rig to keep them on my head (it's inteeeeense). Help in painting my arms and legs by Ginga (as well as help explaining what the hell we were doing to the maids... powder gets EVERYWHERE!).

Special thanks goes out to absolutely everybody in both my group and anime los angeles IN GENERAL who helped keep me safe and helped keep me from hitting things with the horns! Special boooooos go out to the people who walked into me on purpose and didn't apologize. You suck.

what did you use for white skin ??? - im doing the Endless 7 (Sandman series) and none of the powders are as strong as the one your wearing - i need face, neck, arms and hands for 4 people to be paint white like your pic above with out rubbing off on all our black costumesΒ  - Please Please help ...

Aah, I actually didn't! made them, but I know they're made from insulation foam and resin. Lighter weight than you'd think!

I was really lucky that made the horns reaaaally lightweight. They're hot glued to a multi-strap harness that goes over my wig cap; there's slits in the wig, and we threaded the wig over the horns and pulled it in place covering the harness. So therefore, magic!

I love them too. They've got GLITTER on the sides that would show if I closed my eyes. So fabulous. So very very fabulous.

But yeah, I actually got some rude beeyotch walking into me on purpose and when everybody else told her that it wasn't OK, she just flipped us off and walked off, as well as getting shoved and being told 'HOMESTUCK SUCKS'. Ugh, people.

I'm not mad at anybody who hit me accidentally (and hell some of that blame is mine, notice how there is absolutely NOTHING visible of the horns in my field of vision), but that was just stupid.

thank you soooo much! The fabric really made it work, I think, although it was kind of hilarious when I was excited that I could use up the rest of some lime green fabric I had only to find that the green on the brocade was so saturated I had to find even more eyeburning green for the trim!

Surprisingly, no. (Besides, this is me here, and at least 50% of my costumes in the last few years include eye-burning colors; it wouldn't have been quite as eyeburning but i DID already have lime green vinyl sitting around for backup. It's awesome.)

Yeah some people are totally rude and seem to think that because they don't like Homestuck it's a good idea to take it out on the girl with the huge very rigid fake ram horns strapped to her head. I don't even.

oh my goodness thank you so much!!! T_T if anybody really should get credit it should be phantom-shadow for putting everything together and making the horns and being amazing, and marni for the photography; I made one outfit, did miscellaneous wig repair and styling, and helped out on makeup, lol.

spanx are amazing and make cosplay better no matter what your weight is, just saying. Ever wondered why all the Japanese cosplayers have such perfect looking legs? They're all wearing at least one pair (sometimes more like two or three pairs) of pantyhose and/or support tights! And I use dance tights for literally every leg baring costume I've ever worn since 2007 EXCEPT this one, lol, and that only because I didn't want to ruin a pair of tights with PAX (no idea if they'd return to normal after).

Probably pretty much impossible. The Summoner in our group had the horns on a headband over the wig just to avoid the problem I had (you couldn't get my horns off without taking off the whole wig).
