It had been a long day as usual, the team were somewhere totally different to anywhere they had experienced before, Dubai had proven difficult to adapt to with its dry climate hot days and cold nights. Blackbeard had arrived a few weeks prior to the race and was lodging at a local racing yard where Dimitri hoped to get him and his jockey acclimatized to the environment, it had been a while since Blackbeard had been on the flat he had takes a year out of racing to retrain as an eventer but it seemed he still yearned to race, he loved to stretch his legs out on the track after some deliberation it was decided that he was to try to pick up steeplechase, he has shown independence determination and a sense of fearlessness when he was put over any of the cross country jumps often doing all the work for his rider. His new career path proved to be a success the stallion seemed to fly over the jumps with ease.
Now Blackbeard was to race on the flat once more, Dimitri knew he was a little slower than he used to be when he left the flat however his stamina had increased dramatically which Dimitri hoped would give him an edge over some of the younger horses. The majority of the field for the Dubai World Cup were familiar faces, horses Blackbeard had faced before they knew each other, their strengths and their weaknesses although there was fierce rivalry between the different teams there was nothing like a bit of friendly competition on race day.
It was late afternoon by the time they pulled up at at the track, a huge glistening complex towered in front of them like nothing they had seen before, it was clear there was a lot of money in these parts. The sun was beginning to set turning the sky a range of pinkish hues, Blackbeard was dozing in the back of the trailer it had been another warm day and the heat was only starting to cool. It was a hubbub of activity at the Meydan Racecourse horses and people rushing to and fro. Rupert opened the driver's door and jumped out of the cab cursing as his feet hit the hard ground, it was always a bigger drop than he remembered, he hobbled round to the back of the trailer the pain leaving him as he went , he opened the doors and pulled down the ramp and walked into the trailer “Hey boy, we’re here” as Rupert walked up to blackbeard the stallion nudged him with his head gently letting out a snort as he pushed his face up to Rupert's jacket, he had a close bond with him these two trusted each other deeply.
After unloading Rupert handed Blackbeard over to brent to bring him into the stalls while he locked up and gave the groom a hand with the equipment. Blackbeard had woken up the buzz in the atmosphere had him alert, he held his head high looking proud as he flicked his ears picking up all the sights sounds and smells. Blackbeard whinnied as he saw a familiar white mare lead by a fiery haired woman in the distance.
He looked back at Brent then back to the direction he last saw the mare and decided that he would set off towards them, Brent taken by surprise found himself being pulled along after the grey as he attempted to regain control.

When the WBS Staff arrived at Meydan Racecourse, Dubai, the first thing Dallas noticed was how small she felt. People of status walked about, placing their bets on who they'd think would take the largest chunk of the 10 million purse prize later that night. People of all cultures walked about, speaking different languages and gesturing to the trailers as champions from around the world were unloaded. Dallas gazed in admiration at the grand stands, most likely the most grand she had ever seen, glistening as the setting sun hit its polished faces.
As Dallas exited the truck and walked around to the back of the trailer to unload her previous cargo, she took a glance around. Only a few trailers lingered in the lot, far less than she had imagined for arguably the biggest race in Flat Racing industry. 10 million was no joke, and yet, she only saw a few trailers. Dallas was undoubtedly proud of her mare for getting this far. This was, after all, her goal for Ghost after her run at the Triple Crown Races, it doesn't get much larger than the Dubai World Cup. Just as she had raced her mare during her pregnancy to TLEC Quiet Fellow, she was racing her again while covered to BTs Blackbeard Got Some Ink. Interestingly, just as the thought crossed her mind, the trailer carrying the champion stallion arrived. A part of Dallas hoped that the red headed stud handler would be accompanying BTs staff in that truck.
A hand rested on Dallas's shoulder, making her snap out of her thoughts and back to the physical world. Abhijat was looking at her with concern, "It's time to unload, you doing okay?" Dallas nodded and gave a quite smile, then opened up the rear end of the trailer and stepped up and into it, walking to her beloved mare and untying her. She unloaded like a dream, stepping down and circling back around to stand at Dallas's side. WBS Ghost Hour stood still like a proper lady, but swiveled her head as she looked around alertly, ears flicking and tail swishing. The calls that the mare cried out where less than lady like, but she loved calling attention to herself, and that was part of what made her, her.
Dallas gazed at her mare admirably, and suddenly felt unbearably emotional, "Can you beleive it's been almost 6 years..." Abhijat looked over to Dallas and smiled at her comment, then replied to the young owner, "It's been an absolute pleasure, ma'am. And you made it all possible. For that, I thank you." Dallas wiped her eyes and gave Abhijat a hug, "I'm going to take her around for a moment, please help the handlers prepare, and we will meet up come tacking time." Abhijat nodded and Dallas led the mare away just as Blackbeard was being unloaded. WBS Ghost Hour had a pep in her walk as she looked around excitedly, calling out to draw attention to herself. She was a bit round from her pregnancy, just starting to show, but still had a glow about her as always. She had been at this same old busy scene a million times, rocked everyone's world, and at this point, she knew what she was here to do.
