I think deviantART should give to users the ability to remove their own comments, as well as other comments on their profile, deviations, groups they manage and such by the following reasons:- Annoying spam walls
- Being trolled or harassed online by what you write
- "Thanks for the fav" stuff. Some people just don't like their profiles to be full of them
- People falling for old comments
- etc..
Facebook has that ability, deviantART should have it too. The only thing I would add is that removed comments should keep "visible" to deviantART admins in the case the person is posting spam or abusive comments so that they can take action.
Don't forget you can use stamps even if you don't have a dA subscription -----------------> [link]

I realize this is old and I'm sorry, but please DA! Let us delete comments! I realize it's to help with people who are rude and then delete that evidence, but there are ways you can avoid that!
Make it to where if you want to delete a comment, it has to go through a mod or something like with tickets or reports! Figure out something! Seeing "hidden by commenter/owner" for all the comments I've hidden is just as bad as spam, plus it's an eyesore and distracting to viewers!

I honestly think they could also like be able to delete comments but like make a way so that they could have a mode to be able to see for the creators of DA/staff to see the comments but it would be delete able would be a good solution too I really wish I could able to delete my own comments. or some on my page.

the other day, i got massive spams from asshurt kids, trolls and sjws, i had to flag the comments, but it triggered them even more.. dammit dA

Would be a perfect option. People act like god damn robots when posting another "Thank you" and ignoring my warning both in profile and featured comments, plus encourage others to do the same until the whole place is flooded with spams and chain letters. Disabling or deleting commenting would actually stop this and deviantART should consider adding this. As much as everyone else, I want feedback, critique on my art and words/information worth of my knowledge not a bunch of "Thank you". I become easily disappointed when someone just drops by, throws a message then goes away like it's perfectly fine. :/

When my core wears off I'm going to move accounts, transferring only my points to it, and I'd like to have every comment I've ever made on this account just... GONE. For personal reasons and everything,Β it's one thing that you can't fully delete an account, but can you at least let us have any comments we've made deleted??? Please!???????? I can't go back and edit every single one when I've lost track of hundreds!!!

Ah yes, the ability to remove comments... one day....
The "Hidden by owner" thing still takes up the space that the comment would, there is no point to it unless the comment is actually deleted, it's hidden for a reason DA...

I do like to received comment on my arts, a good comment especially constructive criticism. But troll comment, I don't accept it. If DA invent a comment deletion, I mostly will deleted a negative comment on my art.

Underage users, art thieves and other rule breakers will abuse that to delete the evidence that proves they're breaking the site's rules, if that function is included.

it's been said so many times here already... the comments would still be visible to admins, so thieves would still be caught!
if someone randomly posts a troll on a user's page from a troll account, does the user really want a revolting little 'comment hidden by owner' to forever remind them of that act of nastiness?? NO - the user wants it GONE.

That thing is only applied to hidden comments that weren't replied. You can't see the comment but its link is still up.
I was referring about adding the option to delete (literally) the comments and making its links 404'd (for both the users and the admins.). It wouldn't be a good idea.

I'm wishing for that too,now DeviantArt has a new feature where we can edit or hide every comments we've made. but.. Yeah the 'Hidden Bar' is so annoying. because the comments are still there and The Mods can open them,and It's also the statement that there's something wrong.
Generally I don't have any problems with the whole 'Thanks for the fav',but at least we should've the option to remove 'our own' comments for Privacy or something we've realised that we shouldn't have posted.
