my first account with a canvas and a paintbrush, this was a gift to my friend Reid for his eighteenth birthday. I can't say what inspired it, I don't even know Reid that well, but his signature on poems at times had been and sometimes he would refer to himself as "the fallen angel" and I wanted to give him something personal, rather than another one of the funny in the moment gifts he always get that give everyone a good laugh at the time. So...I guess this is really kind of a portrait of Reid in a weird sense, from what I had seen of him. He doesn't appear to be the kind of guy who would ever cry or feel defeated, but the emotion depicted in this peice still felt appropriate, because I felt like I was showing a part of Reid no one ever saw or noticed, but I could feel it there.
