But Perry is more likely referring to the fact that Casey, showing signs of becoming as powerful of a vampire as himself, might crush the snail while holding it. Back then, things like that irked Casey. My, how times have changed since then.

When Casey was younger, there was a period of time when he understood that his uncle, his real uncle was a man who genuinely loved him like a father loves his son. He understood that his real Uncle Perry was different than the man who tortured him and that the real Peregrine Mavery would never even be able to fathom the thought of harming his nephew. But as he grew older, and the occurrences of the "other" Peregrine became more and more frequent, to the point that more often than not, the real Perry was not there, Casey began to lose hope that his uncle would ever be normal again. Soon, he stopped believing altogether that his uncle was trying his hardest to fight against the thing that had taken over.

Anyhow, this is a snapshot of what life was like for them before things became too complicated for their family relationship to be mended.

This has been at this stage for a while now. I kept telling myself I would tighten it up and stuff, but I kind of like this loose style. It seems that usually happens when I go for the more painterly style of digital. And also, I just felt like submitting something to DA since I haven't in a while.
