The truth was staring them in the face and this time they couldn't look away. No matter what they did, they would never be fast enough, smart enough, good enough. Torin wasn't enough.
"Just..." give me another chance, Torin wanted to say. But the truth was that he couldn't help anymore.
He couldn't do anything.
After a decade of planning, training, and flat out torture, he was still just the boy in the alley under a bridge, who couldn't do a single thing.

It's been a rainy day.
The year before last year I wrote that I was grateful I didn't live in Hugo's world since I submitted that around Thanksgiving. This year, I'm grateful that I don't live in theirs. : D

The expression is amazing and immediately makes me want to cry right when I see it :c
I like how the characters look realistic but then there are subtle things like Tori's marks that make you wonder what his story is like because obviously there is something futuristic going on here :0
I also like the color palette. It's monochrome but everything is very clear even though the values throughout the piece are pretty similar. and I like the red accent color OO:
