I really love this.An awesome job, it has elements of the original insectoid Martians but taken in an awesome new direction. It is very clearly not an earth animal, but one could see how a medieval person would take it for a goat headed demon.

One minor quibble. The originals had 3 legs and 2 arms. How is yor version able to manipulate objects?

Nice redesign I like it, question is this Martian based on the original TV series or the Hammer film version, Iā€™m just curious.

A great interpretation of the original design, with a nod towards the tripod walkers of HG Wells' martians.

The clean version is now on my web site, minus the fiery backdrop.

I'd love to have seen Bernard Wilkie's face if you passed him this in the 60s and said "Make it. Two weeks. Thruppence ha'penny" Lol

Nice job, love the 'wing' flaps.

I must admit I've sort of abandoned the insect look (it could still be an arthropod I guess) but the trick is to capture something of the mythological horror about it. Something that could inspire a history of devils and gargoyles etc. Hence this looks like a boiled goat that been through the blender.

Boiled goat that's been through the blender - not the thought I had when I saw the image, I have to admit. I love the old Quatermass TV series (have 'em on video, remember that??) and I think you've managed to give us something that would keep the flavour of the originals if made with todays technology. Creepy but recognisable

No, well not literally through the blender, more like cut up and reconstituted like a fair ground mermaid. Something that covers all the elements of a demonic image, but has an alien look to it. So, if you saw it crouching on a church wall you'd see overtones of a gargoyle, but if you saw a glowing giant entity of it above the burning buildings of London it would basically look like the devil incarnate.

Tell you what - if I saw this crouching on a church wall I'd be breaking the sound barrier in the opposite direction!

Can you imagine the scene where they look at the memory of the aliens swarming and it being a swarm of these? I've got the willies. Brrr!

True. I like both film and TV versions though, and Quatermass and the Pit is one of my all time favourite films. Somehow, even though it's half the length of the TV version running time it manages to cover it all. I do however like the slower episode by episode development of the original and it is quite justifiably a classic landmark in the history of TV.
