Description This image was taken in 1970 in the Shillito's department store in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.  This huge full block long store has since been sold into downtown condominiums, but back then it was part of my shortcut between downtown streets.  In the lower street level floor the candy counter/bakery served the workers and shoppers with tasty snacks.

In this photograph a woman dressed in the attire of the 70s contemplated what to bring home after shopping.  Men still wore ties and hats and everything was still mainly made in America.  It is an interesting shot from the past.

Most likely taken with a Nikon F and 50mm F2.0 Nikkor on Kodak Tri X 135mm film.  As part of my reorganization of old negative files I do not recall ever printing this image.

Feel free to download, just give me photo credit.

OMG--Shillito's!  I haven't heard that place mentioned since I was four!  Mom used to take me shopping there.  I had my first taste of lemonade in their restaurant.

well you know what they say about an infinite room full of monkeys at typewriters and making Shakespear.  the trick is to not show the crap, just the best and of course to have a camera with you and stop to take the picture.  I have a journal about this, what it takes to be a great photographer.

thanks for your interest,
