Description Looking down from my hotel room, onto the street far below.

Picking negatives at random to scan, I didn't know where or when the strip of six images came from, but when I saw the many cabs on the street, I knew right away this negative was shot in New York City.  To enhance the theme of a bustling city, I then exposed the traffic at a slower shutter speed to convey the blur of motion.  My visit was in the summer season, and the time appears to be about 6 to 8 in the early evening, determined from the shadow angles.  The workday was over, but the night life still hadn't begun.

Taken with my Zeiss Contarex with a 55mm F1.4 Planar on Kodak Panatomic X panchromatic 135mm film, in 1967.

excellent shot, love the shadows, blurred cars and of course the angle the image was shot

Great shot. It's like looking down on a row of ants. I can't help but notice that for the city streets of NYC that it appears pretty empty. Times do change. Your photos are great glimpse into the past. Like looking at things from a time capsule. Thanks for sharing.
