Description

I found them hanging on the streets on my return to Sycamore Hill.

Their dark faces, shaded, were easily blocking details. I had been forced to print with a lower contrast paper. Now redone this image, as my photo shop skills have improved, has richer blacks and contrast, yet still not perfect. A companion shot below was taken with better lighting, but it appeared too posed, and yet it wasn't. This action shot was more natural. I'm not sure who was the Alpha male here, but I imagine there was a neighborhood pecking order.

Taken with a Hasselblad 500c with Zeiss 80mm F2.8 Planar, with Kodak Tri-X 120 roll panchromatic film in the 1970s.
