Being a wallflower for most of his life, Takeru has developed a knack to notice both big and small details even from afar. He’s quick to pinpoint things and they would rarely go over his head, making him to be quite the observant fellow. In the face of adversity, Takeru keeps a calm and firm attitude and is not easily swayed by outside influence. He rarely shows a change of emotions in his expressions and is headstrong with what he believes in. Since he’s rarely exposed to emotional values, Takeru has a logical approach to seeing things. He usually gives out clear, sound reasoning and is never caught being sentimental. He is honest and will usually say things as it is, unless he has an excuse to give out a lie which doesn’t happen quite often.
Since childhood, Takeru has always been quiet by nature, only speaking up whenever he needs to give a coherent answer, even then sometimes all he does to respond is by using gestures, like nodding his head or shrugging his shoulders. Aside from that, he is also unemotional. For various feelings, he wouldn’t visibly show them and would only use one default expression for each of them. However, whenever he gets excited, a keen eye would probably notice the shine in his eyes, other than that there’s not much change in his face.
Despite meaning well, Takeru’s honest statement may sound a bit over the top for some people. When he thinks he needs to have a say in something, he will most likely deliver whatever’s on his mind without a second thought. To add to that, he lacks the ability to tell apart whether something will hurt or offend someone in any way. That’s why he can come across as blunt and insensitive. Takeru’s no second thought attitude can also apply to his actions, where he’ll act spontaneously and by impulse. Another aspect to his firm manner is that he can get a bit stubborn from time to time. He can be keen on not changing his grounds even when he’s proven wrong. Lastly, Takeru is passive and wouldn’t immediately act upon something unless pressed. If the circumstances haven't hit near rock bottom yet, he’ll allow whatever’s happening without giving any active response to it.

Ever since childhood, Takeru had always bore a cold and an unapproachable demeanor on his face. Though it was never intentional, he couldn’t help that his default expression just looked like that. Despite the fact, Takeru never really thought much about it, still being too young and all, until it caused a little bit of a problem whenever he interacted with other kids.
During kindergarten and early primary school, Takeru would accidentally scare away potential playmates with the look on his face, even going as far as making them cry whenever he stared at them. Unfortunately for him, to the other kids he was giving them a mean glare, although in truth, he merely wanted to observe.
For the majority of his primary school, there were a few kids that did try to strike a conversation with him. However, although he was excited every time other people approached him, considering how he’s naturally quiet and lacks the sense to sugar coat his words, it turns out that Takeru wasn’t the best person to interact with. It was already hard for him to mingle around due to his facial expressions, but now he can’t help but think that socializing was impossible for him. In the end, he gave up on trying to talk to people and only did so when necessary.
And so, that continued on for a little while. People wouldn’t talk to him and he couldn’t talk to them in return. He was always alone, so it was mostly uneventful, until a particular encounter took place during the midst of his middle school term. By chance, Takeru had run into some delinquents loitering the school grounds. Despite only wanting to take a quick glance, with his tendencies to unintentionally glare, he might’ve stirred up some unwanted trouble for himself by accident.
As expected, the delinquents had taken his stare as a dirty look, which prompted them to get offended. Not having the interest to deal with them, Takeru flat out told them to just get lost, though his poor choice of words had angered them all the more. One had given Takeru a hard shove and was about to throw a punch, but fortunately, before an actual fight could break out, a nearby student, who noticed the commotion, was quick to report it to a teacher. As a result, everyone involved was given a warning, but leastwise Takeru was glad that he came out safe.
Wrong. The delinquents had followed him after school and cornered him in an alley to beat him up. They weren’t all that strong, but their numbers were a bit too much for him to handle on his own. So, much to his dismay, Takeru wasn’t able to fight them off. Once they thought he'd had enough, the delinquents all laughed triumphantly while walking away, leaving Takeru to go home clad in bruises.
Once he arrived home, his parents showed no hesitations to question him regarding the visible bruises. However, Takeru didn’t want to worry them, so unlike his usual self, the only thing he told them was that he ran into a pole. His parents knew it couldn’t be the truth, but no matter how hard they tried to pry the answer from him, Takeru was way too insistent on the pole.
A few days passed, and the delinquents hadn’t stopped their pointless assaults. Takeru wasn’t sure how long he could continue to convince his parents that it was the cause of one persistent pole (actually they were never convinced to begin with), so Takeru decided to start learning Muay Thai from the internet to at least be capable of defending himself. It was definitely going to take a lot of work and time, so for the time being all he could manage to do was to avoid his attackers the best he can.
After a while, he could finally throw a proper hit. He didn’t intend to prolong the fight though, just as long as he could buy some time to escape. Then, the much awaited turn around made its appearance, or so he thought.
One day, Takeru managed to run into the delinquents in school, this time inside the corridor. Spotting him, they of course harassed him again, insulting him with profanities and the likes. Takeru tried not to pay any attention to them, however, that was when one of them had roughly grabbed him by the shoulder. The sudden touch alarmed him, giving him the impression that he was going to get hit another time. By reflex, he found himself swinging a punch straight towards the offender’s jaw, but perhaps, he might’ve hit them too hard. Gazing at the delinquent that wailed painfully on the floor, Takeru could only freeze in place as his mind wandered off to what’ll follow after this.
And there it was, the principal’s office. Since it was his first case, Takeru was only given a few days of suspension, but that wasn’t what he dreaded the most, obviously his parents had to be called in, so in the end there was no point in telling them about how horrible the pole was anymore.
Once he finished explaining everything, his parents tried their best to be understanding, but they were clearly furious to know that their son has been getting bullied for some time. However, they were now worried that the same thing might happen again in the future, so the choice of place for his education became quite a problem. They thought of having him be homeschooled, but that’ll just hinder him from improving all the more.
After a little bit of discussing, Takeru’s parents decided to send him to study at Kairyou Highschool, the town’s local boarding school. Perhaps the fights would surely be reduced to a minimal there, and if Takeru was forced to live with other people, maybe it’ll be easier for him to gain friends. The two then asked for their son’s thoughts, and since he thought that anything couldn’t be worse than middle school, he could only agree to his parents’ plans for him.

[Trivia]✦ FC : Seo Kang Joon
✦ CV : Junya Enoki
✦ Ever since what happened in Middle School, he’s been trying to fix his facial expressions. He’s convinced that it has at least improved.
✦ Still practice Muay Thai, but only to keep in shape. He thinks that it’ll be such a waste if he ends up dropping it.
✦ Please don’t feed him melon bread, he’ll feel like he has the right to ask for more.
✦ He loves cats, but they don’t seem to feel the same way towards him. (Because he keeps squeezing them every time he picks them up)
✦ He has a nice voice and can sing pretty well.
✦ He loves the series Hamtaro, but if asked why he’ll say it’s because “Their big shiny eyes would stare into your deepest soul and give you a severe case of identity crisis.”
✦ Has always been interested to try a team sport, but he’s hesitant to join one because he didn’t think they’d accept him well.
✦ Whenever he needs to vent but doesn’t have anyone to listen, he’ll write a poem to destress. He keeps it hidden in his room all the time and never shows it to anyone, not even his parents.
✦ He actually gets excited a lot, for himself and other people. He’s not able to express them properly though, so as always, he just keeps his mouth shut.
✦ If someone ever manages to befriend him, he’ll probably support them with all his might.
