The big stag yelled a curse as he managed to get his tail out of the way in the last second before the huge jaws closed shut. Ace and Flower had been after some sweet leaves growing in the water, when the dark stag heard splashing behind him. He was slowly getting used to the dangers of this land, be it huge reptiles like this crocodile, snakes or other things he had never seen before. Of course he was used to danger, coming from Blackwood, he sure had met his share of predators from a young age on, some of his scars were from these encounters. But he was surely not losing his tail now to a crocodile, no way!
Quickly were the two Fawnlings out of the water, the huge reptile growling unhappily, having lost it's meal. While Flower got into a tiny ranting fit, showing off what a big and intimidating stag he was with his horn and muscles (under his chub X: ), Ace was shocked to the bone. The smaller Fawnling immediately tried to look Flower over, ever part of his body was thouroughly searched for any kinds of wounds or injuries while Ace iggnored Flower's display of proud intimidation, even when the crocodile was already gone.
"I'm ok, Sweetnose, stop fussing." Flower eventually chuckled, calming down again and tried to get Ace to stop be nudging his partner's flank affectionately.

What Flower didn't know was that Ace's parents were killed by a crocodile .
But this time the croc didn't get a yummy snack to munch on... unlike it happened to Flower in the Wild-Pride 'verse, where he really lost his tail to a croc...

Flower belongs to his mate Ace and Ace belongs to Flower, Nix-Tempesedo and I just are glad they don't always manage to get hurt
