With the comic's hint that Twilight's mother is the author of the Daring Do series, I suddenly wondered just how popular the books really were. I mean, the only two characters that we know enjoy them are possibly the author's daughter and one of the daughter's closest friends who had the book thrust upon her by said daughter. Heck, one could even assume that Twilight was the one to donate the copy to the hospital's book cart, which explains how she knew to rush out into the hall and grab it.However, I think that most of us like to imagine that Daring Do is a rousingly successful book series. Regardless, I would certainly enjoy seeing some more Daring Do inspired action in the coming seasons... Surely Dash deserves a chance to plunder an ancient temple for lost secrets and live out an adventure from the books. It would be a shame to let all of that accrued knowledge of how to do proper death-defying archeology go to waste, after all.

i guess this confirms that the show and comic arent in harmony, because in the show it was revealed that daring do in fact was real, and was the one writing the books

I love the analysis and extrapolative thought you put in to the characters that you've been highlighting in this portrait series. It would be a nice touch to even just address the character's basic background, but taking it that step further to posit that, if Twilight's mom is the author, the success of the stories may be completely different than we all have assumed. Coupled with the detail evident in the art itself, I'm continually waiting to see what you have planned next.

An episode in which Rainbow Dash is plundering a temple Daring Do style would be freakin awesome!
btw. issue #15 of the official mane series comics is about a magical bookworm that attempts to eat all of Twilight's books in the library and it is hinted in the synopsis that Daring Do comes to life in it.
So, there's more Daring Do ahead of us!

There is at least one other pony we have seen being fan of the series, one of the background ponies in "Luna Eclipsed" has a Daring Do costume.

Based off of what I can guess, and based off of the fact that Twilight lived in Canterlot before moving to Ponyville, I can guess that her mom made a lot of money on the book. And in the Gameloft game it is confirmed that Twilight's mom and dad own a shop in Canterlot. ^_^
