Description THE FAITHLESS PARROT [1858] by Charles H. Bennett
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And let's not forget Widow Daw! She's got a bone to "peck" with Paul for his falseness. While he gets pecked away, it sure looks like Tittums and Fido were mean to be a true couple....
~ THE END ~
Well, maybe! [Love that reference you did on Monty Python]
I thought you'd love it. I can imagine more fun stories and adventures with these characters [since they ARE in the PUBLIC DOMAIN].
Yeah, that's a fine way to end a story. Boy are those two happy as if nothing happened at all out of recent events.
Thanks very much, mate! ;D
I figure this lost story deserves some attention, which was why I felt inspired to reintroduce it in a form of a comic!
Got any favorite part from this?
TVideshow In reply to Hatchetstein4Real [2018-02-01 15:40:46 +0000 UTC]
My favourite was how that red cat tackle that parrot with her own skills.
Hatchetstein4Real In reply to TVideshow [2018-02-01 15:45:39 +0000 UTC]
But yeah, that was awesome. That was how the story presented in the original. It was worth drawing that scene that had that furry comeuppance.
I really like page 5 - the composition there, sort of montage, is very interesting, plus I bet it must've been tons of work for you to fit this whole thing on one page
Hatchetstein4Real In reply to saturdaymorningproj [2018-01-31 23:16:15 +0000 UTC]
Including that detail on whether that famous icon, the Big Ben Tower, existed at that time or not? ;D
Thanks a million! X3
Thank you for enjoying my adaptation.
I thought some forgotten story like this would be worth resurfacing. If only Disney would've came across this and perhaps produce an animated short based on it.
Mogwai-toejam In reply to Hatchetstein4Real [2018-01-30 07:13:41 +0000 UTC]
Honestly, I see this as being more of a thing you'd see in the children's section at the library.  There's some great things out there that never get filmed, like the Stephen Kellogg books or Georgie the ghost.
It's nice to wish for things, but you should probably just try to get visibility.  Lulu.com allows you to assemble books and print them up.  It's what I use frequently, because I haven't found any cheaper vanity presses.  I've heard it's sometimes a good idea to give self published stuff to libraries to get your work out there.
