In the big boob art 'guild' there are basically 3 main movements that I can distinguish clearly, of course they are not always discrete and sometimes they intergrade with each other:

-Sexy (Ero?): the principal and most popular of them all. Most of the big boob artists here and elsewhere follow this movement and it is also the one with most fans. I think most artists started with this one, even if later in their careers they chose another route.

-Cute (Kawaii): I consider it the second most important, in terms of fans, amount of artists and popularity. It intergrades widely with the first.

-Hardcore: here I include a wide range of big boob genres I don't like (lol, sorry) and with which I am not too familiar, although each subcategory could be a movement on their own. In general I think this one is not as popular, but who knows! This is just an informed opinion, but I could be wrong. Here I include stuff that ranges from bondage, to grotesquely sexual, guro, scat, so boobs are not necessarily the main characters.

I don't like the hardcore current, and I am not good at drawing cute things, so I think I have followed mostly the Sexy movement. And I do admit that sexiness is one of my main motivations to be into this. It has several advantages: there are plenty of references and people working on it and as I said, most people gets initiated by it.

However I feel that there is still other movements that have been left unexploited or are only visited infrequently. One of them being the Epic/Dramatic current.

Very few graphical artists go into it, but interestingly enough, Big Boob writers have been working on it slightly more, often with great resuts. Certainly the sexy aspect is strong in this one, and I differentiate it from sexy because it is much more than just ' a pretty face'. However the amount nice, epic, graphical (drawings, pictures, paintings) references that work with large boobed characters (especially the most endowed ones) is relatively small. And poses tend to be harder to work with. Also to add epicness or a dramatic feeling to a drawing, the background is very important most of the time, and most boob artists I know ususally get very minimalistic regarding it.

A year ago when I started to draw with some regularity, I wanted to specialize in epic stuff. But as mentioned above, it is a more formidable task than going for just sexy art (or at least I think that's the case. If it was simpler, more people would be into it, wouldn't it?). To give a character a dramatic air it is useful to manage very dynamic poses, and as you may notice my poses look pretty much like ancient Egyptian paintings: stiff and somewhat awkward amd that reduces the dramatic atmosphere a drawing could have.

I am not sure I'd ever fulfill my objective of becoming an epic/dramatic hobbist artist. But still I want to try. And for that I must experiment more. Trial and error, yadda yadda.

Anyhow, let's talk of this drawing. I was watching a video of some mainstream metal artist (I won't tell what artist) and there were this blonde girls 'jumping' around with black shirts, black streaked hair and, I think, miniskirts (their lower bodies and faces were obscured, they couldn't be seen with any good detail). They were shaking their pompoms as some sort of 'alternative' cheerleaders. I tried to get good references of them besides the artist's video. But I failed (Google and I don't get well along D: ). And as I said before, In the video they are very obscured. When I can't see a girl clearly, I usually imagine her pretty hot. And well it was the case for these 'cheerleaders'.

Originally I wanted a more competent person to draw them for me. Sadly, to achieve so I required to transfer money using paypal, which is something I can't do because I lack international credit cards. So, just like when I started drawing I went like 'you can't rely on others, so do it yourself or just don't'

This is my first real try on a 'dynamic' reference (at least that I remember). Capturing the movement and activity is especially hard for beginner artists. But here is my try. The face had to be taken from elsewhere, because in the main references it was obscured (I said that above, pay attention!), and I found no additional references with the level of dynamism for the pose (I am not that terrible when I have a good reference, but when I have to work from scratch, I suck). The hair was flailing everywhere and that made me wonder: where the girl's eyes open or closed? how about her mouth? I have no idea, so I went for some 'generic' face expression. Another tough part were the boobs. The reference had boobs (I think), but as she was wearing a black shirt they were basically invisible. And then the pleated skirt. It looks awkward, but I was pretty frustrated, after 10 tries so I settled for the one you can see there. The lines are not too straight lol.

I want to create a boobie jedi or similar someday, improve Athena, the hoplite female I drew long ago, and my Suvorov era character and I think they would look better in epic compositions than in merely sexy ones.
