But here's what I REALLY wanted to make for quite some time. An expansion on the DxD Duelists Rogue Gallery. Featuring another sexy vilainess, this time Viser.

*sigh* She's the first minor villain confronted and killed by Issei's group. You know, that Stray Devil lady that squirts acid out of her... look, you remember now, right? I do NOT need to finish that sentence!

It's the usual approach with these Season 1 villains, and it ended with Raynare's team just the same. They show up, we learn nothing about them, and then they just die and are never revisited. I love Highschool DxD to the bone, but this trope of wasting great character designs is one of the things I don't like about it. I get it, there must be a first monster, there must be some kind of first target that allows the heroes of the story to showcase their abilities. ... Still, they didn't have to kill her for it, in fact, it's no stretch of the imagination to have Issei spare Viser and restore her to her pre-monster form because he's a good guy or some crap like that. There might also be an Au where a much more inexperienced Rias Peerage fights Viser, but gets totally obliterated by her... I am almost tempted to write that one, but the content would be far too... "explicit" by comparison to my usual stuff. I do, however, have some ideas for Viser's character, as evident from this Duelist image of hers. But as it turns out, I'm not the only one!

Viser's such an underappreciated character that there aren't even official images of her outside of screenshots, so once again, I had to resort to using fanart. And this time, I'm not ashamed to promote the work of one of my favorite Pixiv artists: yxyyxy . This artist is an author of a fanmade doujin named "Highschool GxG", which speaks of a parallel universe where Issei sided with Raynare instead of Rias, and consequently his gallery is full of artwork dedicated to the underappreciated villains of Season 1, such as Raynare and Kalawarner. The doujin in question is, as of the time of writing this, only available in Chinese, and I'm awaiting the day when that changes to English. As of recently, yxyyxy seems to have resumed their artist activity... although it seems they've shifted focus onto Pokemon related projects instead.

As for this image, Viser is given a Relinquished deck. I thought it might have been appropriate considering her... "apettite" displayed in her short appearance in the show, and the reimagined Viser seems to be more akin to the profile of an "inner monster", which is also what originally described the archetype's relation to Pegasus. Fun fact, I originally considered giving this deck to Kataleya Leviathan, another member of the rogue gallery, but... as usual, the search for a proper image turned out to be a waste of time. ... Eh, maybe some day, but I do like how Viser ended up looking here. The background coloration is inspired by the colors present during her fight in the anime, and the purple haze represents her malicious intent. And yes, in my dueliverse, she is also a member of Raynare's dueling team.
