Personality:
Nerissa is a very odd child. She is kind and a good-natured person to everyone in the first meeting, but if you give her the wrong impression, it really sticks to her. If you hope to change her perspective of you, you better be ready to talk to her a lot. She also finds herself making it a habit of giving everyone a nickname, since her memory of anything overly long like names or streets -along with her poor sense of direction - is horrible. When she is in the middle of cooking, she prefers to be left alone to focus and not burn the food, but it isn't as strict as when she decides to sketch. When she's sitting down and sketching say a detailed tree, it's a must to not even touch her. She's focused to the point that she can't really hear if someone comes by - unless they're obnoxiously loud - and the only way her to not snap at you for interrupting her is to either know you well and see you often, or she feels like you're a part of her family. Her team to her is like an addition to her family, but to get to that point is for her to as well get her to know you. If you catch her playing her guitar, you'll her getting flustered since she likes to keep that under wraps and rather have it that few knew her skill on the guitar. Her only exception to these circumstances is Geremy.

History:

She was born as an only child of a Swampert and Chandelure, living the normal life of a child in Destiny Islands. Her parents were happy with each other and loved the other very much. She was very much like her mother and father; confident and curious of anything. As a mudkip, her father taught her to swim, and being a water-type, enjoyed it. Her mother would teach her how to bake and cook the recipes she knows now by heart, and enjoyed taste testing her food the most. She explored around the islands and generally had a happy childhood.

When she was at the age of 6, was in the forested areas of the islands and noticed a figure following her around. Calling out to it using the fruit she had, she found a small Growlithe with a nick on it's ear that had been the one following her around. She stayed around the forested area and played with the pokemon until sunset, when she had to return home. At first the Growlithe tried to follow her, but she told him that he had to go back to his family, like she had to return to her own. She returned home with no one following her home. The next morning though, the sound of tapping on her window forced her to wake up. Crawling to the window, in front of her was the same Growlithe, paws on the glass to try and get in. She opened her window and let the pokemon in, curious why he decided to still follow her, but didn't worry about it much. It was whether her parents allowed him that worried her. Her parents came to her room to see them doing a tug of war on a shirt of Nerissa's, and after some deliberation and big-eyed looks towards them, they decided the Growlithe could stay with her. She named him Geremy, and followed Nerissa everywhere she went.

Along with it though came the mocking of her from other children. A family of boys her age started to make fun of her because of Geremy following her, and starting say how she had no friends and was a freak to them. She yelled and told them off, but the silence wouldn't last long. She had friends, it was just that she leaned more towards doing her own things than being with her friends. In one of the attempts to stop the mockery of her, Geremy starting coughing, and by surprise, coughed up a bit of fire that burned Nerissa's hand. Her father treated it, and since it wasn't major, didn't bother her much. But Geremy saw what he did and for a while kept away from Nerissa so he wouldn't harm her. She did her best to get Geremy to come around with her again, telling him that she knew it was an accident and understood. It took a few weeks to get Geremy to come around with her again, and with her, tried to help control his fiery coughs. Her first aid skills in burns grew from experience and got used to the small burns that Geremy made from his coughing. The coughing kept coming and going, going more than coming, so controlling it wasn't very successful with the lack of experience.

In her early teen years, the arts started to become an interest for her, taking up an old guitar her mother used to play with, and soon after paper and pencil to sketch landscapes. The lines with rough and messy, and the notes out of key, she practiced diligently and with Geremy's help in her focus gained an artsy side of her. On her 15th birthday, she evolved to a Marshtomp and as a present was given her father's coat he wore when he was a Marshtomp himself, and a shell necklace her mother made. The same night, an odd dream came to her. She found herself in a dark place, and a little light shone in front of her. The light would float away when she tried to hold it at first, but once she let it fall to her palm, the light grew and brightened to awaken her. The dream kept reoccurring for a few years, and to her the dream was all it was; a dream.

When the heartless armies came, she was with her family until the same light from her dreams came to her. She tried to stop to look at it, but her father pushed her forward and the light went inside of her, but nothing happened; not yet. They were just about to escape when something pulled her away from her parents towards the heartless. She found herself surrounded, and fear started to settle. With only herself and Geremy by, she didn't know what to do. Her peaceful lifestyle ended that day, and the next day found herself in Traverse Town, holding Geremy under one arm, and a keyblade in her other hand. At first she dropped the keyblade and backed away immediately from it, but it kept returning to her hand. She didn't know what to do, so for now she was able to get herself a place above a bakery in the beginning where she works part time to pay for expenses like at her mom's bakery. She's been searching desperately for her parents, but no avail as of yet. But the keyblade she knew, it would hold the answers to her questions and held onto it still. She joined the teams of keyblade wielders to find what she was looking for, and of course, some new friends.

Additional Info:
-The coat given to her by her father can zip itself up in water to look like the hands of a Marshtomp to make swimming easier.
-Her feet also become webbed when swimming and from swimming in the water along with her typing, can stay in water for extended periods of time
-Her mom's eyes glow in dark areas; Nerissa was born with this trait, but it is much weaker than her mother's
-Her mother was actually pregnant again with her younger sibling before the heartless came, and Nerissa is worried for her health and the child's as well (it's a litwick son)
-The boys in her childhood kept up the relentless mockery up until the heartless came. She has always had a bad feeling about them
-She usually keeps a container of mud in case she feels overly dry in a place; there's usually mud in her place in a giant container for her own sake
-Geremy's her pet Growlithe; the nick on his ear is accidental
- Her hands and arms are covered in various burns from her attempts at helping Geremy control the coughing
-Very good in first aid for burning from it
-She's also developed a resistance to the pain of small burns; it hurts, just not as much as it did when she was younger
-Her part time job has always been in a bakery, both before with her mother's place and now in Traverse Town
