Oh Iskierka, right out of the shell you fiery dear! I love the Tem/Iskierka relationship, its like part father/daughter part teacher/student and part...flirtacious/coy/embaressed lust/love/mutual affection. Its so interesting and I really hope that the two of them have an egg! I think Temeraire really does care about her and vis versa, under all of the annoyance and face palms! Anyways...this drawing is so cute. It is simple and yet really detailed facial expressions! You capture their personalities really well! Great Job!

Im just to much a perfectionist to be able to draw them myself, even though I wish to do so

Oh, you should see the early sketches I had of them - absolutely terrible - I couldn't get them down right the way I wanted them to for the longest time. My biggest problem was that the bulky-dragon look didn't seem to work on them, at least the way I was drawing them. So I used more snake and lizard references as opposed to the standard dragon ones I was using.

I know exactly what you mean. I feel sorry for Granby. But I feel sorrier for whomever is stupid enough to try and attack Granby, for he has one of the most protective dragons in the fleet.
It's so adorable how dragons become such mother hens towards their aviators.

i think books have less fan art because their aren't any pictures to go by, either that or its just that less people read books than watch movies.

awww...i got it at this year's comic con, two month's before its release! at the publisher's booth i was asking about the book and then the lady who i was talking to brought be around and handed me Empire of Ivory and in yellow bold said, "advance reader's editoin, not for sale"
i practically was frozen at it, then i said "could i hugged you" and i hugged her and her cohort said "you made some1's day" indeed. i finished it a month before the official release. i wont spoil it to you, (i want to though) but lets just say its another win for Mrs. Novik

well when you do get EoI, ill give you this little spoiler, she grows up when they come back from africa and she really changed she's now more battle hardened and mature and so is Granby
