The most literal alligator gar I've ever seen XD
Quite atrocious looking, I have to say, and that's a compliment. I like the oddly-colored fins, and yay for those teeth!

His revamp looks absolutely atrocious, but in a good way. LOL Anyways, his alligator traits are much more obvious now, which definately helps with his design. The webbing on his hands and feet are also neat additions. The coloration of his fins is...odd, but appropriate for a part-gar daikaiju.

The new fin coloration is mainly to distinguish him from Xercese, since they came out looking pretty similar.

In some aspects, perhaps.
Oddly enough, alligator gar are known come in come odd colors, albino ost notably.

*googles*
Huh, I guess they really do take after gators, albinism (or whatever pigment disorder it may actually be) and all!

LOL Indeed. I've been considering the albino look as the color scheme for my gar kaiju, albeit retooled a bit.
For a while, I had been considering altering the alligator gar's mobile skullbones into what I can only describe as a "three-mode transforming face". It's exactly what it sounds like.

Ooh, sounds like a very distinctive beast if you go through with it.

Thanks, but it was a concept for Alligar, and he's fine as-is. So no, I'm not likely to ever use it.

Ah. Oh well. Still, it's a good idea. I would keep it in mind, just in case.

I have no use for it, but I'll be keeping it in mind anyways.

Yes, good to see another alligator gar kaiju pop up around here. That makes four, I think.
His character isn't anything particularly unique, but I'm a bit biased for these fish, so Atrocity's one of my favorite of your kaiju so far. His design is also good, as half of the other gar kaiju are little more than oversized fish.

Thanks.
You know, I'm kinda surprised that no one actually tried combining an alligator and a gar before. It's seems rather obvious.

I just noticed something else.
The name "Atrocity" sounds a bit like the genus name of the alligator gar: "Atractosteus". Intentional, was it not?

Yep, ya' caught me. I typically look at scientific names first when dubbing me beasts, and this one's name just popped.

Hehe, nailed it.
I also use scientific names when naming kaiju, though I use jibberish rather than similar-sounding real words.

That's what I typically do. In fact, I think a lot of people do that.

We both appear to use "derived" jibberish; that is, jibberish with an actual base in reality, like scientific names or physical features. A lot of others use "true" jibberish, which is exactly what it sounds like.

Welcome.
A few confused my gar kaiju to be such a hybrid, which was apparently due to his name: Alligar.
