Never being good enough intellectually for his demanding scientist parents Conner Price's desperation to make them proud caused him to volunteer for an illegal experiment to increase his intelligence. Though the experiment worked, and gave him great telekinetic abilities on top of that, it drove him insane and disfigured him! After killing the scientist who did this to him he set out to prove his intelligence and might to the world as the new Brainwave!
