Representing Sinnoh in the World Elite Four, he is by far the oldest member of the group in his sixties. Of course he is in shape, but he uses his wisdom to help make sure the other members of the World Pokemon League don't act too rashly. They look up to him for advice, and though he isn't the strongest trainer he is definitely the moral compass that makes sure the League uses its power for good.
